At the time of this review The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is about 5 years old.
It's still hands down one of the best RPG experiences on the market (with modern graphics).

If you don't already own this gem it's one of the best bangs for your buck.
The base game is great, but with the addition of the MODs in the steam workshop this game shines. Skyrim provides dozens of hours of game play... MODs add hundreds if not thousands of hours of free content.

Pick up Skyrim with the DLC, but avoid the new special edition "remaster" it may never stack up to the original's MOD library.
