Played on an RTX 4080 + R9 5900x, I did not experience any performance issues and game was buttery smooth throughout. As a generic story driven action game, yes I wholeheartedly recommend this. Soundtrack is epic, graphics are stunning, character designs are on point and the combat is fluid.

But as a title bearing the Final Fantasy IP, no. This is a far cry from the previous titles, 12 hours in and I do not see any other way to customise my team in any meaningful way. Maybe it unlocks later in the game, but I doubt so. I came from the X, X-2 and XII era and you could go nuts with your team's build. FF16 is so linear and guided, you'll feel like you're just watching/playing an interactive movie.

Some of the epic dominant battles turned out to be just QTEs. (Seriously, Square Enix?)

Plus. the game pacing is extremely awkward, the game could have you walk a few seconds > cutscene > walk > cutscene. It's really disruptive. So no, not recommended.

Servers are rampant with hackers. It's pathetic really, that people have to rely on cheats to win the game.

Early Access Review
TL;DR: Buy and support this game if you like Titan Quest, or Grim Dawn,

The moment I started playing I knew where did the developers got their influence heavily from, and I just had to write this review before continuing playing. I spent countless hours playing Titan Quest when I was a teen, still remembering the frustrating moments when the game refuses to detect that I am using a legitimate DVD copy. This game is pretty much reminiscent of Titan Quest; old school hack-and-slash, looting, leveling up, rinsing and repeating but with updated graphics.

You can pick 4/5 available classes at the moment, with a basic skillset before branching out to the 3 specialization, further personalizing your character build. I do hope to see the last class (probably a ranger) being unlocked soon, and also some sort of character customization.

Graphics is okay-ish, looks slightly dated but not the worst I've seen. Slight stuttering here and there when transitioning to another area, not game breaking but noticeable. Am enjoying this game so far; looking forward to more developments in the future.
