This game is all the detail and complexity you would expect from a rougelike without the awful interface, lack of visuals, or unfair obfuscated mechanics typically associated with rouglikes.

It is "not like" Nethack in all the ways worth sacrificing or improving.

I do not recomend this game. Of all the dota clones over the years it is the least polished. Gameplay is halting and not as smooth as its competitors and it has a sheeen of halfassedness (word of the day) due to its inconsistant visual style.

By being higher detailed the moddles, units, and enviroments are less identifiable and natural than simpler art styles. By being more cluttered and grey this game manages to feel a step behind warcraft III visualy.

Being free does not require quality. Aping the gameplay of established free games to get in on the action does. Rise of Immortals fails on every conseveable metric to outpace its granfather let alone its brethren.

Voice acting, animation, and writing. Totally unnecessary!

When your lead role is played by a watered down witless Gybrush Threepwood you may think you're hosed. This is all saved by the fact he is a dog.

Creative game play is absent completely. But its all ok. The arbitrary fetch quest is appropriate..... because your a dog.

He has a deep and meaningful romance with a woman. Its totally not forced and creepy...... because your a dog.

If you can't tell that there are better indie adventures available like puzzle agent. You just may be a dog to.
