Only available for 2 weeks a year, and requires a level 7 class to equip it; tremendous.

On sale, this is a superb 4X game that focuses on combat and unit synergy that allows for an addictive 'one more turn' campaign that can scale from a few hours, to days in length.



While very little of 4X is present here, what remains is great gameplay and strategy. If you like tinkering with diplomacy options those aren't here; however you still feel like an emergent faction that gains strength overtime.

First fearing the neutral units (or at the very least, moving with care) until you can amass enough units for your faction and decide to push out.

Only to run into an enemy that you quickly need to size up in order to determine if you have the right units and/or technology required to defeat them. Remember, with no diplomacy once you've encountered a faction, they are more likely to attack you.


While not every faction, and its playstyle is to my liking, there are more than enough factions to learn and master, or simply pop the game open for an afternoon.


While the DLC is expensive, it can (mostly) be avoided until its on sale, or you're a fan of that faction.

However, two of the unit packs DLC are integral to the enjoyment of several factions: Orkz, and Astra Militarum immediately come to mind) and those are the The Assault Pack, and the Specialist Pack, as they add some much needed units to your factions.


Final note: The mods, specifically from the workshop truly make this a better experience. From variations to the size of map details, to lore accurate Red Lasgun visuals; and even fully voiced faction with response lines (Orkz really shine here) when you click on units, it all helped to add another layer to this already solid game.

I only equip it on my Soviet MG role, and for obvious reasons, I never use the DP-28.

But I bought it for the peace of mind; knowing that if I never need to meme, it's there, ready for me. Waiting.

Hell yeah

Such a deep, refined, and wonderful aesthetic to a game that has forever changed the Total War series.

More than enough factions and player selections offered, not too mention enough mods to get exactly what you're looking for.

+ Game runs solid (I'm on an i5 8300, 12GB Ram, GTX 1050 [4Gb]
+ Matches are quick to join - under a minute in my experience
+ Starting package/spawn choice is actually a nice change:
Hangglider, to descend/glide to new locations
Snowboard (Press T) to get to locations somewhat stealthily
or; Grapple/Icepick to use ziplines, or climb hill/rock faces
+ Gunplay is solid, weapons feel solid
+ Good weapon Variety
+ Weapon attachments automatically carry over if you replace the same type: meaning no having to detach when swtiching to a different assault rifle, or picking up a better sniper rifle.

- Not all features are present at this time - No Duos/Squads
- Limited outfits, need to unlock via crates w/ ingame currency.
- Graphics options seem limited
- No quick button for Bandages/Med/First Aid: They are set to 7,8,9
- Same with Grenades got to press 5 then you can toss.
- Not exactly sure how supply drops work, no plane overhead, the Orbs simply just appear?

That being said the game is in early access so I can see the first three negative being sorted out as the game continues development.

If you're looking for something to hold you over until CoD Black Ops IV - Blackout (I know I am!) then this is a solid choice, without being forced to play that mess that is H1Z1, or spend money a soon-to-be dead game in PuBG.
