Early Access Review
In a nutshell this is Warband with better graphics.

The combat is clunky and shallow. For a game that focuses on medieval combat its very lacking. Pick one of 4 directions to swing and match blocks with the enemies swing angle to block. Thats it. No combos, parry, riposte, chamber or anything. All the different weapons all feel the same. A 1h weapon feels the same as any other 1h weapon, stats may be different slightly but I cant tell a difference in any of them.

The battle AI is very basic, most of the times armies just run right at you. Almost all battles devolve into a giant mosh pit. It possible to give your units orders and formations but you cant do much before the enemy army just zergs you.

There are only a handful of quests and none of them are not very fun. Dialogue is very limited, all NPCs say the exact same things. None of them react to anything youve done or whats going on in the world.

The main core of the campaign is to recruit some basic troops, farm looters over and over to level them up and collect junk to sell. Become a mercenary for a kingdom so you can attack proper soldiers and ransom them for more money and then become a vassal for a kingdom so they might give you a fief or two. Kingdoms just randomly declare war on one another and chase each other around and take settlements until one gives up.

I would wait another couple years to see if they can add some substance to the game. If you want to play warband that looks a little better graphically then you might like it.
