I love Battletech, and used to play the board game. This game perfectly captures the mechanisms of the board game - heat management, direct the mech is facing, armor, critical hits, cover, and movement - and makes them work effortlessly and instinctively.

It really gives a sense of the differences of the mechs I'm fielding, even within the same weight class. A Firestarter, Jenner, and Panther all play differently, and it have to be utilized with consideration of their strengths and weaknesses.

The story line is interesting, and supported well by the non-combat UI. A few tweaks to the non-combat UI would be welcome, like the ability to shop from the mech maintenance bays, or hire a mechwarrior from the mission launch screen.

I'm really enjoying this, it's the best pure Battletech computer game I've ever played. I encourage anyone who enjoyed the strategy game to play!

I want to play something else, but I can't stop playing MW3. Addicted to leveling up.
