I would love to give this a thumbs up...the lore, the characters, the combat (in general) all what I would expect from a Square Enix game.

What I can't forgive is the total lack of respect for a player's time & skill in the following forms:
A) Almost all boss fights are scripted so that no matter how skilled you are, the boss will only take <x> amount of damage & then you have to wait for the stupid battle dialogue to finish before you are allowed to damage him again...wouldn't have been that big a deal if not for 'B'

B) Stupid "multiple" endings wastes your time fighting the same dozen bosses repeatedly...Endings A & B were pointless where C should have just been the default one...then having D & E would have been cute way to tie up the story...instead, I was so bored by the time I got to D or E that I just didn't give a crap anymore & just watched them online.

C) Material grinding was poorly implemented in that certain materials could only be got at specific points in the game & some had the worst RNG rates possible.

Square has used the "multiple endings" gimmick before (Chrono Trigger comes to mind), but at least those endings had very unique triggering conditions & differences in ending. This was just a spit in the face to do the exact same steps & get rewards with a couple extra scenes that should have just been in the original ending anyways.

The game is good for a once thru, but take my advice & just youtube the other Endings.
