A game made with a real purpose and meaning. One that every gamer should try at least once with an open mind. It offers a glimpse into the stigma and suffering of those unfortunate enough to suffer from severe mental illnesses. As a game, it is engaging enough in terms of the core combat and puzzle solving based gameplay and the 3rd person perspective works pretty well in VR too (although the graphics aren't quite as stunning as the flatscreen version).

I STRONGLY recommend watching the Hellblade Feature in the main menu after you complete the game. It's about 20mins long and it shows you the research, craftsmanship and genuine compassion that went into making this groundbreaking game.

Love it. Just non-stop old school carnage with chainswords and alien scum everywhere you look! And it looks jaw dropping at points too which is always a nice bonus.

Highly recommended for anyone who loves 40k and also on sale for anyone else who just likes insane co-op action games :)

It's frantic and fun. The verticality, destruction and intensity combined with decent gunplay all adds up to a good time! I'm not sure yet how long it can keep everyones' attention, but certainly for now it's well worth playing!

Quite the experience and definitely some of the most fun advertising I've ever seen created!

Played a couple of levels and realised pretty much straight away that I wasn't going to enjoy this one. A shame as it looks great, but the gameplay is just a bit too clunky and basic for my tastes.

Early Access Review
If I could give this game a neutral review I would. I wish that was an option for Early Access games in particular as I don't recommend buying this now, but probably will recommend it in a year or two.

It looks beautiful and they've really managed to capture a stunning rainforest look and feel. None of the survival mechanics I came across were revolutionary, but they were all smart and really well implemented. The Story mode also seems to hold genuine promise once the developers have properly added that to the game.

I am writing this review for more casual survival players like me and the Story mode is currently only just a 30min taster of the final game though. And the Survival mode is punishingly difficult. As in, if you get bitten by a rattle snake early in a run, but don't have any access to the required meds, you're done for. I guess that's like real life eh... Certainly for more casual surivalists like myself I would recommend waiting until the full release with the Story mode completed.

However, if you are a keen survival game player then there is probably plenty enough for you to like as it is right now and I'd say you should at least give it a go - you can always refund like I have and buy it again on full release if you're not convinced by it yet! Looking forward to seeing how this turns out in another 18 months or so....

Dirt Rally + my Rift made this lapsed racing game fan return to the drifting fold! This review is solely from a VR perspective as I haven't played the game on a screen, but with a Rift and a rig (and stomach) that can handle the pressure, this is a truly breathtaking experience.

The game itself is a beautifully crafted piece of work that you can tell has been made by true rally enthusiasts. Codemasters have done an exceptional job of putting together windy, undulating stages that feel like real surfaces to drive on. I've played rally games since the 90s, but this is the first one that I can say genuinely feels like being in a rally car sliding round gravel corners in the forest. The game is challenging, but it just takes some practice and the willingness to start off in the smaller cars like the Mini and progress forward from there.

And the Rift part.... admittedly the graphics are not quite up there with the very best VR titles (Dirt Rally was released in 2015 and VR support was added to it later). Even at 1.8 supersampling there is some screen door effect which is more pronounced in the menus. However, when you're tearing through a snow stage in Sweden or soaring through the sky after a big jump with a very real feeling of your stomach dropping (it's that realistic!) then none of that matters. It just feels amazing to be driving a rally car really really fast and that's all I could ever have wished for from this game. Buy it!

Early Access Review
1st playthrough:
- Wandered around, found a knife
- Attacked by wolf, but killed wolf
- Skinned and gutted said wolf
- Patched myself up, felt good
- Woke up next day and saw another wolf near an enticing building
- First wolf was no problem so took it on with my knife
- Got seriously mauled, somehow broke my ankle, but made it to the building
- Meds not working, red fog descending, panic rising
- Snuck out, found a ravine and threw myself down it
- That wolf ain't getting its dinner this time no siree
---> Survived 1 day 3hrs

2nd playthrough
- Sneak from building to building quiet as a mouse
- Avoid wolves like plague
---> Survived 14 days so far.....

Hands down THE best strategy game of all time. So tense, layered, emotional and nerve-wrackingly brilliant that I dedicated half my Steam username to honouring X-com and my many, many, many brave fallen soldiers. RIP chaps and chapesses, sorry I couldn't save you all!
