There was a lot of hype for this game. Enough for me to try jumping into an unplayed series knowing full well I was going to get my ass kicked again and again while having obscure items and quests hidden. I think I'm in love.

I have 1400 hrs in this game. The alluring thing that keeps pulling me back to Rust is how synonymous it is with life (except no forced wipe with life). It shares the highs and lows, random encounters, and social aspects that make both so unpredictable. It can be a steep learning curve though, and my advice is to be cautious. There are old, and there are bold, but there are no old bold.

The creators of this game don't care if you don't understand it, and that's a really good thing. They have this vision for a game, and they were not afraid to commit to that vision. A challenging, engaging, well laid out game.
