This game could've been awesome.
It failed before it could start for 2 reasons:
1). No platoon/party system - No way to queue with your friends in 2024
2). No server/region select - Having to play with 350ms 9 out of 10 games
I played the open beta through steam for ~4 months with these two options never being addressed.

The game had amazing building and combat simulation.
Moving parts in builds; pistons, rotors/hinges.
You could build awesome melee weapons; hammers, spears, flippers, spinning/bouncing mines, traps.
Was so satisfying to make something that worked well.

Instead of addressing real problems the devs were constantly making superficial changes;
- Changed general shader from yellowish sand to orange-ish sand
- Constant spam release of new cosmetic skins locked behind super grindy battle-pass
- Changed announcer from male to female voice
- Changed lighting/shading of structures
- Made ads click and hold, removing choice to have click to toggle
Each time a change was made to the game it was made by the devs for us, never implemented as a toggle in the options menu to enable player choice.

So sad to see it fail.
The hypest way I could describe what this game felt like:
"Space Engineers 5v5 with online quick matching"

They shut down ASE to force every1 in to ASA.
5 months in and 90% of content is missing.
Only 1 map and no expansion content.
Game gets a 14gb patch and it breaks mods for 72hrs now and still no fix.
Crashes every time loading in to unofficial server with mods.
Official servers are beyond toxic; cheating, bad manner, griefing).

The review bomb atm is real. Devs just pushed Easy Anti Cheat update and killed user QOL mods.
The life blood of the game is user generated content; Avatars, Worlds, Mini Games, etc. Imagine killing user made mods. Feels like a contradiction.

VRC mods address short comings of the game that Devs have been too lazy to fix even though the game has been out for many years.

Big sad.

My "go to" PvE game.
Don't let my hours played deceive you. The mod launcher doesn't add to my steam played.
Plenty of Races.
Great mechanics.
Best RTS.
Unification Mod and/or Ultimate Apocalypse Mod are highly recommended.

I've played a lot. I have yet to find a replacement for what this game offers.
Rotors are awesome.

Mod.io, TOS and "temporarily" = recommended: "No".

Game is awesome bu thas grown to large to fast. Hacking is rampant.
Unplayable right now. 30% of rounds end in getting hacked (spamming bullets while jumping from 400+meters kill with headshot).

When they fix the hacking I play again.

60$ way too much, get realzies plx bohemia!
