Good fun game and plenty of humour, well worth it if you like Warhammer 40k and Orks in particular but it is pretty short so worth getting if it's £5-£10 in a sale.

Very chilled open-world game where you float along on your raft, fishing for materials, fending off an unfriendly shark and trying not to starve to death. Early game is pretty tough with hunger and thirst causing real problems (and the shark chewing off bits of your raft) but it becomes easier as you land on various islands and explore the reefs. The art style is simple and nice and the game can be quite relaxing, especially with a lot of friends on board. There are a few physics glitches mostly with the scrap hook mechanic but nothing game-breaking. The story is now complete so well worth picking up the game and seeing it through to completion with a friend or 3!

If you liked Left 4 Dead or Vermintide then this is a 40k-themed version of squad-based combat but with a lot of great new features that makes it better than either L4D2 or Vermintide 2. The squad has genuinely different characters - it is virtually a completely new game if you play as the Ogryn compared with the Sharpshooter - and the gunplay is fantastic. It's a new game so some features are not there yet (Versus mode would be amazing) but expect them to appear in the near future. A crafting system is coming, but the lack of this is not missed at the moment - there are more than enough guns and melee weapons to try out anyway. Apparently some people have been seeing a lot of crashes too - I have only had 4 in 40 hours of gaming so pretty good going so far and likely to get even more stable. I would highly recommend the game now, even without more features - it is definitely worth the £35 it currently costs! For The Emperor!

Very chillaxing game. Like Viscera Cleanup Detail (also recommended) but without the gore or comedy bucket-tripping stuff. This is just nice and easy, very relaxing and engrossing. Good multiplayer too, where you can share the work on a level. Recommended.

Great little cutesy-style 2-player co-operative game that's actually insanely difficult in many places. Can get very frustrating depending on who you are playing with (as you both are able to drag the chariot in opposing directions...) so recommend against playing this with young kids. Which is a shame as the artwork is lovely!

A good Assassin's Creed game but I'm not quite as enamoured with the RPG elements. Worth getting if it's in the sale but if you're only going to play one Assassin's Creed game then I would recommend Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag over this.

The best of the Assassin's Creed series. Very definitely recommended.

This game is incredibly beautiful and a real time-sink. I got the Explorer's Edition in the sale for £20 and I haven't even finished the first island yet - it has been well worth the money. There is masses and masses of content, so many different biomes to explore, a huge array of dinosaurs to meet, avoid and eventually tame. When you start out the game is terrifying - one raptor can easily chew you up and the first spawn point is dangerously close to a Spinosaurus hunting ground. But if you can get to the point where you get a boat then you are a bit safer... then later on you get very good flyers like the Argentavis and the game changes once again into a soaring, exploratory dinosaur-hunt. It is amazing. The only downside is some clipping bugs (dinosaurs falling off ships or getting stuck in buildings) but the game itself and network code is very stable. Oh, and when you get really attached to a favourite dinosaur and it ends up getting eaten by some wandering carnivore. That hurts, but it always feels realistic. Highly recommended, especially if you have a small group of friends to play with or a friendly tribe. Online on your own seems to have the usual griefers to avoid so is not recommended.

4 player co-operative Aliens for free? Go on then. Surprisingly atmospheric graphics and sound and huge amounts of multiplayer fun (especially with friendly fire when the panic sets in...). Love the slo-mo kills too!

Stupidly fun stupid-fun couch game. No alcohol required, it's fun enough anyway. Definitely worth the few quid I paid for it and it's now free-to-play so what's your excuse not to get it?
