This is the ZOMBIE GAME that delivers. Incredible graphics throbbing with excellent optimization. I had my LOD set to 0 yet i was still getting mind blowing far off views. I can only imagine what its like set to full. Npcs are lifelike in appearance and the world is so fully realised in its detailed environments i feel like am actually there. The only way it could get any more real is with one of those up and coming virtual reality headsets.

Audio and music brings home the classic eerie nightmare feel of a George Romero, Lucio Fulci, Ford Brothers zombie movie with just the right balance of real life ambience and theatrical stimuli. Voice acting is marvelous giving life to npcs and your character while enhancing further the believabilty of the amazing highly fleshed out world.

As you play through the game your character will level up getting skill points depending on what he does most in the game. If they are a runner type their agility tree will get skill points to use on different strengths. If they are a smash and kill every undead in sight type they will get skill points in their power tree etc.

The environment is very tactile with tons of things you can interact with. From turning on radios to collecting common day items you can then use to craft new things with like weapons and home made health kits. You can pick locks of different levels of difficulty but be weary time will not stop and a zombie may chomp into your skull because you didnt pay mind to its shuffling feet as you greedily picked a locked chest. You can rummage through buildings for food and money while coming across people in need of help. If you decide to help them it will effect how they view you. If not oh well you scoundrel you! Movement is also another spectacular very natural feeling action executed in spectaculer fashion by DYING LIGHT finding myself climbing and jumping onto and off buildings, diving under things etc etc. Usually i suck at games that have acrobatics but in DYING LIGHT it all felt so right with the parkour system.

You will see npcs going about their daily lives while having to deal with the horrors of the zombie plague. One time i came across a bunch of children in a day care school setting in a apartment building as a female teacher read them children stories. Another time i listened to one of the many varied accounts of those fighting zombies as i explored a building.

Combat is alot of fun as well as quite scary. While you engage zombies your stamina will go down making your attacks less effective and you more vulnerable to a zombie(s) assault. Zombies may be slow moving but they will tear you apart as you scream in horror when you suddenly find yourself surrounded by a slow moving horde of rotting corpses.

Your weapons have wear and tear which means that metal pipe will be useless after one too many door smashed open by it or zombie skull caved in. Fear not though for you can repair your items back to working shape with items you salvage in the world.

DYING LIGHT its the ELDER SCROLLS and METRO 2033/METRO LAST LIGHT of zombie games. Truly a mind blowing masterpiece that will give you hours upon hours of endless gameplay with a awesome campaign and plenty of side quests.

To have this much enjoyment from my i5-3570k 3.40ghz with 8.0gb ram, Radeon HD 7770 card at a resolution of 1366x768 is miraculous. All i can say is thanks and DYING LIGHT is definitely a title worth playing and paying full price for.

DYING LIGHT a magnificent and rare treasure of a game.
