Familiar HoMM feel but also different. First impression is that this has potential. Although this Demo has very strict on what it shows and limited so not sure yet but I'll definitively recommend to keen an eye out for this product

My first impression of the game is quite good. It's interesting and I want keep playing more (when I have time). This is very different game than the first game. Sure the aesthetics are familiar and you can instantly tell it's in the same world as the first one, but the gameplay feels quite different. That's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just something that you need to be aware of when going in the game or when deciding if this is a game you want to buy.

I do recommend the game, however I do also feel like original Frostpunk had more soul to it than this sequel. I can't quite put my finger to it but first game made me care about the people and community around the reactor more. In this sequel I feel more like numbers go up and numbers go down and so on. I don't feel as connected with them.

That said I still have a lot more I can do and play with both games. Both are good but first 1 I think is better in certain ways. The sequel definitely feels bigger, so they did achieve that goal

Has Potential but...

Let me start by saying I really want to recommend this game but at the current state I can't, yet. This game has so much potential and I'll update my review when the game is updated to appropriately to fix the issues as well as missing QoL features added. Game should have not been released in its' current state or alternatively this should have been an early access release

!!-My list for requested improvements-!!

INFORMATION
(about features and functions, etc.)
- Better explanation how everything works
- Example of the above is staff treatment room. I don't understand what it does exactly. I tried it few times but both times it said my staff is seriously ill and it was not possible to select to cure them. Could only ignore or convert to biomass =(
- Almost every icon and feature needs some kind of MOUSE OVERr description about it. (this makes the game more approachable to new and learning users)
- more convenient methods to check on staff symptoms (there needs to be a way to quick glance to see which staff is showing symptoms and how many and how severe etc. More info is ok but going through staff one by one is asking a bit much every time)
- How does extraction work exactly? (tutorial says it is available after paying 1 franchise fee but in caree mode I wasn't able to do it (could select it and all but then nothing). So I assume there might be other requirements?)
- (some advanced details could be unlocked via gameplay and then be available more freely once unlocked)

NPC behaviour
- please improve the NPC behaviour in various situations
- example: sometimes staff goes on coffee break then goes back to work only to decide they need to sleep right after returning to work. And sometimes this means a lot time is wasted in them walking back and forth doing nothing

This can be a great game

With proper care and attention this game can become great and very much enjoyable experience. It just needs to have the polish it deserves. It's a shame Undead Inc. was released the state it was but that said I fully encourage the devs to put in the necessary effort to fix it and then we can have something great

Really fun and there are countless ways to approach each run. Sure rng is a big factor in this game which is to be expected. I mean it's a poker game with a fun roguelike twist. But there are a many ways to mitigate the RNG and turn the odds in your favour. I beat a full run in my second try with the first deck. Altho I must say playing the demo past couple weeks helped as when you get familiar with the mechanics it becomes easier to understand what to prioritize in a run.

Played the demo quite a bit prior to release and it gives good idea of the game. So anyone curioius should try the demo before they decide if they want to buy the full game
EDIT: Turns out they have removed the demo with game release. Now I don't know why they would do that since in my opinion being able to try the demo is best way to help people decide if they want to buy the game or not.

PS. Might update review later if I encounter anything worth mentioning. So far first impression is very good

For a free game (demo) this looks very promising. Hope the devs continue this project and looking forward to what they can come up with.

Different enough to most other games in the genre. Definitely recommend people give it a shot.

I was recommended this by a friend as I enjoy these types of card games. The first impression has been very positive for me. Clearly the devs have had their mind and heart in the right place making this. I'm sure to enjoy this many hours for months. Just a quick review to give this one a thumbs up. If I remember may write something more detailed later.

Anyone who likes RTS and/ or FPS games should try this. When I play this I only wish my friends on steam could join me.

From what was first imagined to be a HL2 mod was born as wonderful indie game.
