Early Access Review
WanadevStudio has clearly received Odin's Blessing... and has chosen to share it with us peons. Take my money. The trailer does this game no justice, you have to play it. Can't wait for more.

I only have a few hours in but I will say it is fun for me so far. I do believe that some people have set their expectations a little too high and everyone wanted something different, and to be fair the Star Wars brand demands a lot. I kept up with news and announcements for this game decently well and I honestly did not think that there was really a lot of info on what exactly this game was going to feature out of the gate except for a story mode, multiplayer mode, and different types of ships. On that front, it delivers. There is a single player mode that teaches you the basics of playing the game and how to operate the ships... I've seen a lot of criticism for this but it did not bother me because most games that feature single player and multiplayer can arguably say that the single player campaign preps you for multiplayer. I did not expect the next big cult Star Wars story and for what it is... its fine. I also see a lot of criticism for the game on HOTAS controller setting difficulties and optimization issues... to this I say, the game was made to release on consoles with a controller and a pc. It supports VR. It supports HOTAS controllers. That's a pretty good package for day one release. Those features could have easily been pushed back to a later date and forced everyone to play with a controller or keyboard and mouse until those features were available at a later date where there could have been no criticism for these issues because they simply would not have been there. I was just thankful that these things were available at launch. I was not expecting this game to be a flight simulator detailed game. I pretty much assumed that day one I would play with my Oculus Rift S and a Playstation controller because thats what I interpreted the game to be made for as a third party game. Keep in mind this game was not specifically designed as a VR flight simulator with HOTAS support. I was not disappointed. I play in VR and use a controller. Optimization will undoubtedly be fixed in the future and i'm sure HOTAS support will be helped out as well. Is it perfect, no, does it have its flaws, sure. These things are to be expected in this day in age of video gaming. I recommend this game and say, if you want to dogfight some tie fighters and attack a star destroyer, give it a shot I think you will be happy with what you find. Give the developers some time to fix some issues before writing it off and I think you will find that when you shoot down that first fighter or your 100th fighter its a enjoyable experience. My opinion may be one that a lot of people disagree with but I believe I set my expectations at a reasonable level and I am happy with the game as I purchased it and look forward to the improvements in the future. And lets be honest, it's $40. They could have charged $60 and we would have still bought it. Thanks MOTIVE and EA for not price gouging during a pandemic. You went up in my book.
