Reminds me a lot of the older Rainbow Six games, back when it was actually tactical and before the appearance of a wheelchair operator.

Really fun and tense with lots of customisation for yourself and your squad, shame about the censorship but it's a good game overall.

There's very little redeeming qualities to this, even the turn based campaign element is done poorly. In effect it's just skirmish with a campaign layer, each territory earns benefits (supplies, equipment, men etc) meaning you can replenish your forces a lot easier than the main campaign. That's it.

The campaign layer is terribly designed and doesn't feel organic, you get the odd random event or dialogue and that's it. Diplomacy with other factions is done through said random events, and is just a choice in a dialogue box. You can choose which territories to attack or if your territory gets attacked then you can choose to defend it on the same turn. Both attacking and defending plays exactly the same, you both rush to secure territories before the other. You can't even fortify your territory to make it more defensible if attacked, and you, the defender, spawn in at the same time as the attacker so it basically plays like a skirmish which makes no sense. Why wouldn't most of my forces be available already if I'm the defender? Why would there be no timer indicating when the enemy will spawn? And why does my defence (or garrison) consist of two weapons platforms controlled by the AI?

The balance is atrocious, the AI just spawns whatever and charges your territory when defending whilst you're limited to infantry and light vehicles at the beginning of the battle. Meaning the AI can easily steamroll you because you can't bring in your heavy weapons.
Lets say you win and took heavy losses though, essentially a Pyrrhic victory... Guess what? Legion can deep strike you and if you're in that position where you need to recover the campaign is over because it's a direct attack on your main base of operations even if you've got other territories.

The best part? If you manage to win your campaign, that's it. None of the other factions get unlocked so you don't even get to try a different angle, just the same linear crap as before.

For the price of this DLC I could've bought a kebab and chips from a place with a food hygiene rating of 1 and ♥♥♥♥ out something of equal quality.

Finally! An RTS that doesn't identify as a MOBA!

I suck at Zomboid and it turns out I suck at this too.

Fun game though, the turn based element really works well and night time is paranoia inducing.

Not a bad remaster, there's some scenes where the games colourful shaded graphics don't really suit higher resolutions but it's noticeable rather than off-putting.
Marking the location of the main quest and timed side-quests is VERY welcome, tales of games are notorious for miss-able side stuff and it's really annoying having to use a guide to see where and when in the game you messed up.

For some reason I immediately had access to the GRADE shop with lots of points to boot, generally this is something that unlocks on new game+. If anyone else sees it, IGNORE IT for your first time playthrough else you risk ruining the experience.

Quite impressed with this, I thought it was just a linear you play as legion where the campaign was just one mission after another. Nope, the campaign has multiple layers to it like Church's campaign, you can research, build and prepare for the missions in the same sort of way. Your forces are unlimited but your shackled by power reserves, which makes you play conservatively in a different manner. So far the game seems generous with it but Legion's forces do have some disadvantages, it only dawned on me just how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow the Homunculi are.
It's also post Church's story so it's good to see that being continued.

Qudos to the studio, this game had a bit of a rough launch but they've managed to keep it interesting!

Played this on the OG Xbox back in the day, an absolute quality survival horror with some decent mechanics. In particular the trust and fear system behind your squad members feels faithful to the movies, since the paranoia of who is/isn't your enemy makes it more tense.
