A wonderful spiritual successor to Turtles in Time.

The graphics stay true to the 80's cartoon aestethics much like Turtles in Time but it is a still a fantastic upgrade from that game.
The animations and sprite work in both characters and stages are absolutely beautiful with lovely details that bring tons of variety.

The gameplay is similar to the old games but also a major upgrade with the addition of dogding, additional specials as well as both updated and new enemy types.
The stiffness of the old games is more or less gone and you can now move effortlessly using the new moveset.

The soundtrack is also fantastic and despite the fact that they could easily have just remade or remixed the Turtles in Time OST they made a completely new soundtrack.
Not as good as that soundtrack in -my- opinion but it's damn close and really has that 80's feel.
The fact that they brought back the old voice actors is also a huge plus as well.

Content wise you have 16 stages averaging at around 10 minutes each with some simple but fun bonus collectables, upgrades and unlockables which really adds to the replayability factor.

Worth mentioning is that if you're not a fan of this type of games then this will probably not change your opinion.
It is an extremely well made retro beat ém up but it's still a retro beat ém up so if that's not your thing I'd say look elsewhere or wait for a sale.

All in all this is a love letter to fans of Turtles in Time, the TMNT Arcade game as well as the NES games.
The best part is that it's a fantastically well made love letter and I'm truly grateful to Tribute Games for it.

This game is an absolutely fantastic example of quality over quantity.
The main game concept is simple; pick a mission, pick out daughters, turn-based fights against monsters on a grid until objective is complete, repeat.
However, the amount of variety, style and quality the developers has managed to fit into that gameplay loop is fantastic.
The art direction is amazing and so is the sound design.
Gameplay wise it doesn't feel like there's anything missing nor anything that feels superfluous and that is rare nowadays.
I was expecting a decent mini X-COM 2 copy but this greatly exceeded my expectations and I can't recommend it enough.
