Ok. At first, I wasn't a fan of this game because of the interface. It was clearly designed with a controller in mind, and if you know me, you know I HATE PC ports of games that don't consider things that PC gamers EXPECT to have as norms: PC keyboard and mouse control (done well), and SAVE ANYWHERE. Checkpoint systems, for the most part, are dated concepts tied to systems with insufficient resources to implement proper saves.

That said, you can turn down the mouse sensitivity to the point it's fairly playable, and even though you can't "save anywhere", the biggest detraction I've seen isn't saving per se, it's LOADING. You can't load after a mistake...and I have to say, for a survival horror game, that works for me. Shortly into my first game (a couple hours), my main character died...and the game went on. I went and looted his corpse and he was gone, leaving the rest of "us" to continue to try and make it in the world.

Gameplay is for the most part very similar to Dead Island, except the game world is quite open and bases may be relocated and upgraded. It's mission driven, but there's some story elements that keep it going. I'd prefer a little more storyline and character developement, instead of the "build a base" options, but for the most part it works...I keep coming back to play more. We'll see if after my first play through I go back, but it was a steal during the summer sale, and it has already paid itself off.

If you are at all a fan of the Walking Dead (AMC TV Show), or perhaps the comics (I haven't read them), then BUY THIS GAME.

Each episode plays like an old "choose your path" book. The puzzles are straight forward and simple, and there are few significant (live/die) choices to make, so for the most part the experience is Zombie Horror story time.
