Monopoly Plus is your basic Monopoly in virtual form, complete with animated counters and properties.

What this version does allow is for online multiplayer, although finding other players can be a little difficult. There are also options for modifying the rules to create a different kind of game, such as earning money for rolling 'Snake Eyes'.

Where the game can come in to it's own is through Steams Remote Play Together. Thanks to the need for just one player to own the game, friends and families can come together, irrespective of distance, to play Monopoly and form loving arguments about how it's unfair for dad to own both Mayfair and Park Lane and immediately place hotels on both! This is one of the best examples of the benefits of the Steam feature. Be careful though, as unscrupulous characters will take over your keyboard to cheat!

Overall, this is a perfectly serviceable edition of Monopoly, and although steps could have been taken to further shake up the formula, most people coming to this game will most likely be buying it for that classic game.

Best for: Long Distance friends and families looking to rekindle those Christmas arguments

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is where a lot of gamers love of horror games started, and for a very good reason.

The audio work on the game, especially for the time, was top notch, and the game. although maybe not graphically astounding, oozes style and atmosphere, and in a horror game such as this, atmosphere counts for way more than a high pixel count.

Seen in today's light, it can be easy to dismiss some of the quirks and actions of the game as being 'clunky' or 'outdated' but keep in mind, 10 years ago, this would have been one of a very select few who were pulling this whole spooky atmosphere alongside an actual story-line off.

At £15, this can seem a little steep for a game of this age, but for anyone who does pay the full price, they should still get a good amount of value back from that. The game is often on sale though (it's on sale for £1.49 as I type this!) and should therefore, if not already owned, be grabbed by everyone else at the first opportunity when it is on sale.

It might not be as terrifying as it was when it first came out, but it still beats many games that have come since, and remains one of the best horror games available.

On a slightly disappointing side note, from a technical perspective, the game does have a bug that can cause the game to crash, particularly if you are clicking the mouse during a loading screen, but aside from that, it runs perfectly.

Monster Hunter World is a large sprawling game that is so easy to get lost in very very quickly.

With a huge selection of weapons changing up the way in which you play the game, there is endless possibilities, with replay value coming out of it's ears (Hello Paolumu!)

There is a strong emphasis on group play when teaming up with others, either friends, or strangers, and a good combination of different weapons in said group can lead to some exhilarating battles.

With multiple armour build options, plus multiple versions of each and every weapon, and different difficulty levels spread out for each and every monster in the game, plus the recent introduction of the huge Iceborne expansion, for anyone with even a passing interest in the action genre, this is an absolute must own!

I bought Lego Worlds to play alongside my son, who for a short period really enjoyed the game, but it was troubling how quickly he grew bored with the game.

Lego has also built a reputation that its longevity is based purely on the imagination of the constructor, and that remains somewhat true, but there is no mistaking the strong sense of missed opportunity with the game.

Being Lego, this should have a been a shoe-in for an absolute classic with no limits, but unfortunately, it falls some way short. The trailers for the game does a great job of selling the quirky nature of a creative building game, it just never comes through when actually playing the game.

For me, Lego Worlds comes across as a Roblox minus the true freedom of expression.

Having said all of that, the game is serviceable, and is far more fun when played alongside a friend or family member, and if you approach the game with a few fun hours in mind, you won't be disappointed. If on the other hand you expect Minecraft with Lego Bricks, you very much will be.

Luxor: Mah Jong is a simple enough Mah Jong title, with an Egypt theme.

There is not a lot to say, other than the screen resolution does not support widescreen, there is a repetitive Egyptian piece of music played throughout, sound effects are of a high volume when set to default, and the there are a few power ups dotted throughout the board to make the game easier for you.

Your choice in purchasing this game will come down purely to how much you like Mah Jong, but in all events, there are better versions out there.

Sonic Mania is the classic Sonic experience for the modern audience and is near perfection.

Everything you ever loved about Sonic the Hedgehog growing up is here and present, with beautiful aesthetics and a level of performance to really do it justice.

For anyone with even a hint of nostalgia or love of the classic games, this is an absolute must!

And what's better, Sonic really looks like Sonic, instead of that bastardised movie version they tried to put out!

Pool Panic is a Crazy Golf type game, where you control the cue ball with legs, chasing and hitting all the other balls across a wide variety of stages, replete with themes such as Sports day, biker gang, construction site etc. Each ball you encounter has it's own characteristics that will change how you will coax/force the ball in to the hole, with many levels containing a mechanism to unlock some of the balls, such as balls sitting at the top of a tree, or hiding in a tent.

The game has the distinctive visual style of the Adult Swim universe, but for some reason, although the visuals would make you think the game is full of humour, it's strangely lacking in many cases. It's possible the scatter gun application and sheer number of levels has unfortunately diluted this aspect of the game.

Navigation of the world map lacks structure, but for those who prefer their games to have an open approach to tackling the levels will no doubt enjoy that. Others will be somewhat confused as to what to do next.

With 3 modes of play (Story, VS & Panic), plus 4 criteria to perfect on each hole, the game is brimming with replayability, as long as you patience for some of the more frustrating mechanics of the balls behaviour doesn't piss you off before that.

From the makers of 'There's Poop in my Soup' comes Super Duper Party Pooper.

It's more of the same, but strangely, just not as good. The premise being, you use your avatars elongated tongue to scoop up stereotypical food from the region to fill up your bowels to later poop onto the dance party going on in the background.

Unfortunately, I found the rhythm of the music didn't quite gel with the timing of the required actions, creating a weird, off beat style of rhythm game. There is the option to use your own music, but I found this made the game even more wonky, rhythmically.

The game has a few annoyances too. For starters, the first two (of six) locations insists of showing you the controls for a long time, and it's kind of in the way. Also, the game bugs out if you restart without going back to the menu, and the food never arrives sometimes.

The game also uses some cheap mechanics to get you to fail, such as a quick fire button prompt for S that makes you swallow a bomb and lose, or wait too long and lose a combo. Not much choice there.

All in all, this game took what was half decent from the first game, and instead, ruined it with a ill made rhythm section. It's more about eating well, and pooping less.

Ah, Two Point Hospital!

For anyone old enough to remember Theme Hospital, this game is heaven.

Every bit the spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, TPH comes up with so many wacky ailments and illnesses chock full of puns, and with the ever expanding list of DLC add ons, they keep on coming!

The game does a fantastic job of easing you in to the way everything works and comes together, piece by piece, by moving you from one hospital to the next, each one with more space than the last, more illnesses than the last, and more requirements than the last.

The controls for the game are flawless, and mistakes are easily rectified, thanks to the versatility of the building tools available.

All in all, this is a silly game that is easy to play and easy to enjoy, and anyone who was lucky enough to grow up playing Theme Hospital owes it to themselves to grab a copy of this at all costs.

Your enjoyment from this game will depend largely on your love of BOTH Tetris and Puyo Puyo.

For those looking to purchase this game because you love one, but are not fussed about the other, will likely grow frustrated with the main campaign mode, as you are often switching between the two, and never really feel like you are playing a settled game and getting in to a rhythm.

The story of the main campaign is a load of guff (what did you expect?) but a game like this is much better when it comes to Multiplayer.

There are a few modes to choose between, and all of them can be fun, but the amount of fun you can get out of the game will also depend on your level of skill. There are some very good players out there, and being paired with someone who is clearly much better than you will have you punching your monitor in no time.

Best for: Fans of BOTH games
