I intermittently come back to this game when I want a city builder / optimization puzzle game. It's a good game, but most notably it is getting SO much consistent dev attention. Even if this genre isn't typically your cup of tea, it is absolutely worthwhile trying out - the devs are giving it so much love.

Really enjoyable puzzle meets city builder. ~11 hours of good game play to 100% clear it. Worth the price IMO, but would be even better on sale for ~30% off. Anything below $20 would definitely be worthwhile if you're a fan of the genre

Endless legend meets Spellforce meets heroes of might and magic.

Absolute steal for the price

I was really hopeful after all the comparisons to FF Tactics and tactics ogre, but I simply don't enjoy the gameplay.

My issues were:

1. There is no zone of control in combat, and there is no line of sight. I really like TACTICAL RPGs, and in the traditional sense I don't find this game to be. Perhaps late game there are better options for control, but the ability to form a defensive line, use high ground etc felt very limited. You're basically just running around, blasting people uphill or through rocks, and constantly dancing with enemies to strike from behind. The tactics felt absent, and I can't imagine actual combat in any situation ever playing out as it does in this game.

2. graphics are at odds with each other. Level design is gorgeous, but the models seem like awkward jrpg sprites, which don't match with the character cards. If it weren't for issue 1, I could overlook this, but the combination is just continuously disruptive.

If you're going to buy it, get it on sale in case you find these issues really frustrating as I did

A great spiritual sequel to the first chivalry.

High skill ceiling, really fun game I've certainly gotten my money worth out of.

I however, currently need to recommend against it - the devs once again are unable to maintain their servers in the context of increased player volume from a recent sale and once every 1-2 minutes you will have severe packet loss. The game is close to unenjoyable at a high level in this state.

I'll amend this review to a positive one once they fix it.

Mods make this game great. To make people pay for them, even when they are of poor quality and not developer supervised is pathetic. Downvote to make a stand against pay to play.
