One of the best games of its kind.
Its not purely one thing. Its not really a survival game. Not purely a bulding game.
But what ever mix they found here works perfectly.
And the details you could ask for more in, will come.
Like more freedom with building stuff. They already done a lot of that with updates. But when modding starts for this game, the sky is the limit.
When I picked up this game, I did not really expect much. I had jumped from game to game for some time not finding anything keeping my interest. But this did it, and ended up playing some 180 hours in my first run, bulding the biggest town, on the map.
Cant wait to jump in again, with all the new updates.

I say NO, despite actually enjoying the game much more than I thought I would.
The missions are relavtively good and move along fine.
And the game it self has enough different things that it gives you things to push for.

But the reason I said NO. is because you should consider some things before buying it.
Because there are a lot of annoying bugs, and some of these bugs is just game over.
And playing a game, trying to create something build something, just to have the build destroyed beacuse of bugs, is not good.

In the missions its more the many smaller bugs, you don't get to the big game ending bugs, as the game is over before it breaks. But things like.
- Rangers, and medics getting stuck and just don't move or do anything is a big issue ( And also make other bugs worse )
This bug is something that will follow you throughout. And while you can help it along by placing a lot of them, and making access super super easy, they will still bug out, just stop at a building and say they can't get to target and not move anymore. Or medics not going to do their job.
- In missions you also have to be careful about random dino behavior since it can make you fail missions even if you do as the missions wants you to. when you hunt dinos. because they can die before you move them, and then mission is over. So save often.
- Sometimes dinos just bug out and get to the other side of fence, not because they are broken or escape. Its just bugs out.
- And many other small bugs often to do with things getting stuck or do not move.
- Your save games starts running while you are in loading screen, so you have to press space to pause the game, without being able to see it, or things can break while you are in loading screen.

Biggest game ending issue is however the AI breaking.
You see this mostly i sandbox, because it seems to be something that happens the more dinos you get, and the bigger your park gets. And the issue seem to be bigger with Bird AI, and sea dinos.
They simple stop moving, or bids are stuck in the air, just flying in the same place. And then they start to starve and thirst. Even though you have plenty of food, and perfect habitat, and there was no issues for a long time, When the AI breaks, the code is permantly broken for that game. There is no fixing it. The doctor can go there when they get sick because of it. over and over. You can try to sell them and put new in, but the same issue will come.
Ocean animals does the same, just don't move, and then starve and thirst.
It happens less with "normal" dinos, but it also happens a lot when you get far enough with animals that need feeders. even though there is plenty of food. and you force release the feeders, the animals won't eat. they just wait to starve and thirst and get sick. - Again after having function fine for hours. Its when the AI breaks it happens, and there is nothing you can do. your game is just over.
And last when your entire park is ruined and all your dinos forget how to eat, drink and move. Your average dinos AI breaks to. Just standing still on the Leaf they need to eat, and starve. So it happens to all the animals in the game.
But it seems birds and water animals break first. Think its connected to feeder mechanics.

And then you can't play the game, And its not really fun to start over, because the same will happen again.
So if you like to create and build the perfect thing. You can't because these bugs exist.

And that is why I say no, because I do enjoy the game. But when you can't really play it because of bugs. Then you should not buy it.

It follows the same logic all paradox games does these days.
Release as little as possible. And then keep adding DLC to milk the players for content that should have been at the release.
Then force the game to run for much longer by adding yet more DLC for a full game price where the game just gets worse and worse for it. Like EU4 as a prime examble.
Paradox should really change leadership and thus outlook on how they do things, at some point the abuse they choose to handout to a very loyal following will come back to haunt them.

Victoria 3 is not a good game. And then you can say it just needs more work. But we as users should not make excuses for paradox, they choose to release the game in this state. as they always do. And they will choose to add DLC after DLC to a point where a game cost 100's if not 1000 of dollars.
When you play the game, after trying to figure out what the goal of the game even is supposed to be, you find out there is nothing to do really.
And what little you can do, works super bad. so the choices you have do not even feel good.

Seems like paradox just lives on what they did 10 years ago. And have no clue about what they are doing right now.
Every release and choice they make goes against what is actually best for those who buy the games.
They gate keep and cost themselves new players and they chase away old ones.
All in all. this is a very normal Paradox release. So my advise is don't fall for it, paradox do not care anymore.
