awesome game. the best way i can describe this is a raw world simulator. its full loot open pvp everywhere you go, so every interaction matters. whether its roaming around solo doing pve and making friends or mobbing in a group of players sizing up everyone around you and robbing people, everywhere has that element of danger which keeps you on your toes. very in depth and satisfying crafting/gathering system, combat is fun, archery is accurate, and magic is friggin cool. super excited for this game to launch!

got axes. chopped a tree which landed on friends head. killed friend. laughed. built rafts. spent 15 minutes traveling to new island. got ganked immediately by a swarm of mobs. lost everything. built another raft. went to go reclaim our bodies. sent all those mobs to valhalla. troll comes and destroys everything. built another raft. went back. killed troll. then spent 5 hours building a base.

10/10 best game my group of friends has played in a very long time.

as an avid rust player of over 200 hours, I absolutely love this game and what its about. Ive been playing since day one, release all the way up until today. this game is brutal and unforgiving, not for the feint of heart by any means. If you're able to look past that you will have the most exhilirating love hate relationship with any game you've played to date. you HAVE to roll with a team, dont waste your time solo play. unless you no life or play on an extremely low pop server, you literally will never be able to secure a base fast enough and enjoy the game without a solid team. Another thing you will have to look past is hackers. since day one hackers have always plauged this game, and i think its pathetic that they still exist within every single group on OFFICIAL servers. Day one undeveloped rust sure i understand some hackers slipping through the cracks, but this game has been out for years and the fact that there is still such a huge number of hackers on OFFICIAL COMPANY OWNED servers is pathetic. its only slightly frustrating when your team gathers materials for 7 hours straight then some random guy flies through your heavily fortified structure, instant headshots every single person in the vicinity, takes all your hard earned material then vanishes. oh did i mention this kind of stuff happened to my team three separate times this week on an official company owned server? twice by the exact same player days later? the same people will blatantly exploit and hack the game and not get banned.

im hooked and theres no other game that provides this rush. rust is incredible with timeless gameplay value and fun. it is one of the best games ive ever played, and if facepunch could provide a solid fix to this horrible hacking issue, id wholeheartedly reccomend this game. for now, i recommend staying out until theyre able to at least keep the losers out of their own official servers.
