Chime Sharp (or Chime # for those who are musically inclined) is the long-awaited sequel to Zoe Mode's c̶h̶a̶r̶i̶t̶y̶ hit game Chime that shone with tracks like Jonathan Coulton's "Still Alive". Brought to you by hundreds of dedicated fans through the graces of Kickstarter and the awesome coding skillz of Ste Curran, this is the sequel you were looking for - more tracks, more play modes, more pentominoes. The basic gameplay hasn't changed - you compete against time, placing your pentonimo tiles to make squares at least 3x3 in size that then vanish giving you points and a bit more playing time if you've cleared a new area of the playing field. Clearing squares raises your multiplier, while leftover pentomino bits will eventually start flashing and tehn disapper, setting your multiplier back to 1 again if you don't clear them up fast enough. It's a race to clear the whole screen, at which point it'll be rinse, repeat.

Doesn't sound exciting? Well, it really isn't, in a big-game GTA or Batman kinda way. It's draw is rather more sublime - really pared down and more like a meditation. I love it. Steam will tell you I spent literally hundreds of hours playing the original. I'll probably play Chime Sharp even more, because it's the game that doesn't disappoint because it doesn't even pretend to be something it isn't. Time played for money spent it's the best investment I ever made.

Disclaimer: I did not receive this product for free. I actually paid a̶ ̶l̶o̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ some money for it in advance during it's Kickstarter. Love the end product. Would consider having Ste Curran's Love child, if it were possible,
