I bought this after i quit playing rust, looking for something similar and less toxic, this game has not failed to deliver. I understand it is in early access, and i accept there will be issues (so should everyone else.

Basic idea of the game is simple, build a base, defend it from zombies (zombies are harder in the night cycle and run fast!!), then on the 7th day the blood moon comes, this is usually 6 hours in game time (30 mins real time) of zombies raiding your base (you cant hide from them). If you survive this onslaught, you have 7 days to rebuild and rearm for the next 7th day!!!!!

This game is an absolute gem. Having over 430 hours i still love it as much as the day i bought it, if not more.

As with most "crafting" games there's grinding, but i don't mind this, i actually love the dangling the carrot " maybe the next building will have the item i need".

The crafting is intuitive, and very easy to get in to, the amount of base designs are limitless. You can build a base from scratch, or build in a pre build house, you can build ANYWHERE even in a city (although a lot of servers don't allow this). You can even build underground bases!!!

The landscape is split into biomes desert/snow/forest etc etc. There are also ALOT of buildings to loot, ranging from a lone house to a small town to huge cities all lootable and destructable :)

As with a lot of games there is a levelling system which allows you to make/build better items/weapons/buildings. I find the scaling on the levelling is really nice, you cant unlock everything day 1, so there is a great sense of achievement.

Dedicated server files are available through steam if you wish to play with just friends on your own server, but there are 1000's of servers around the world that cater for everything.

There are also ALOT of game mods for this greatly change the game e.g. War of the walkers

The "ally" system is pretty good so you can play coop with friends.

PVP i have never played so cannot comment, as i prefer PVE play.

All in all a cracking game but remember it is early access and the game is in development.
