TL;DR - this game is fantastic and you should play it.

Spectre Divide brings a breath of fresh air into the largely stale tac shooter genre. The core difference being that in each match you spawn with two bodies that you are able to switch between throughout each round. Far from just being novel this really changes how you are able to play. You can set up yourself with flashbangs, you can leave one of your bodies to heal while the other runs in with increased speed and vision, you can throw a smoke that really has your other body inside it and make a surprise push you couldn't do in any other game. It makes you have to think differently compared to any other game - both in how you play and for what plays your enemy might be doing. It's hard to convey just how cool and unique it is - I recommend you just try it yourself!

Not only that but the shooting is crisp! And rather than just copy/pasting the CS shooting mechanics they've done something all their own. ADS is central and it feels like a blend of CS and R6: Siege in just the perfect balance. There are recoil patterns ala CS but you can move and shoot freely with no penalty to accuracy (while aiming down sites, if you are trying to shoot from the hip you will be penalized with any gun but the game's two shotguns.) The weapon variety here is on point. In CS I often felt like there were too many guns that all did kind of the same thing - to the extent where analysis paralysis could set in. In Valorant it felt like there was too little selection and you'd just use the exact same 2-4 guns every round. Spectre Divide (from now on referred to as SD) seems to found found the Goldilocks balance and the weapon variety is just right, and each of them seems to have a situation where you would want them.

The game isn't perfect, but it's early days. For one I believe sponsors take way too long to unlock when doing so for free. Another issue with with skin pricing, and although prices have been lowered, for what you get I think the weapon bundles are very over priced. All but one at the moment are just retextures and can run you upwards of $50 USD. The player skins I think are much more fairly priced with the highest their being just $15 USD, and offering a complete remodel, body, headwear, accessories and even hairstyles, as well as unlockable colour variations. At the moment I think their approach to weapon bundles needs to be re-examined.

That said, if you just go full free to play, the game itself is fantastically fun and absolutely worth your time. I highly recommend downloading Spectre Divide and giving it a try!

This game is amazing. I would say the best FPS since Titanfall 2. It is intensely unique. New game modes that we haven't seen before, incredible strategic and tactical depth, depth in customization trying to come up with new builds for your class, and as a team with a build for the whole team. It comes across as this uber fast paced ADHD game on the surface but there is SO SO much depth, so much thought that's needed to succeed when you get into Tournament / Ranked mode especially. The difference between the three architypes - Light Medium Heavy - is balanced together so well. And you aren't restricted to NEEDING to run one of each or NEEDING to run two of a specific class. You can run one of each and the game works so well, you could run three Mediums, the diversity in that architype is so deep. You could do two lights and a Heavy, two mediums and a heavy, two heavys and a medium - at all works (except maybe three lights). They've done such a great job on balance. There is a small pool of maps but they have put SO much work into each one, they've added modifiers like weather, time of day and even changes to the map (like on Monaco there is a church that sometimes ins't there and is a rubble field instead, on another there are floating platforms that sometimes are there and some times aren't) And for visuals, they've knocked it out of the park. Super high def, incredible art style, realistic and snappy and forward thinking but also with a lot of fun so it';s not taking itself too seriously (without being off the walls goofy). God I love this game.

Love the art style and setting - this is very much my jam in that regard. If you like company of heroes, WW1, mechs and alternate history then this is the game for you.

Fantastic strategy game! Great mech, pilot and ship customisation between missions - I love it! I'm a huge Batttletech/Mechwarrior fan (and just giant robots in general) but even if you aren't I think as long as you are into strategy games you'll love this! For fans of the series they understand the source material perfectly well and definitely do it justice!

One of the most underrated games of the past decade. Fantastic single player game, insanely fun fast-paced multiplayer, even co-op horde mode. Lots to do and freaking awesome! Would love for the steam release to breathe new life into this title (maybe even prod EA into greenlighting a Titanfall 3)

Early Access Review
Very good for practicing flick shots and charting your progress. Lackluster tracking practice however. For the most part all of their tracking practice modes are just too easy - targets are large and move slowly in almost all of them. This is great if you are a beginner but anything beyond an absolute beginner is going to get nothing out of them. I recommend using this in conjunction with Kovaacs if possible. There's a lot of stuff that this does right especially how it gives you tips on weak spots to improve on that you may not have noticed such as if you consistently undershoot or overshoot your targets, if you are weaker on the left or right of your screen etc. and I would love to see it progress and develop, especially as regards their tracking practice offering. Overall super useful considering its stage of development and its current zero dollar price tag.
