This is an old school classic RTS game with some really neat and interesting stuff in it that isn't in other games of the same genre. Also, the experimental units and the artillery in this game are more customizable to your base. In many ways the game is better than supreme commander 2 even if you include the SC2 DLC/experimental units.

Essentially, for point defense there are just more options available - making things more interesting. Plus, I really love the commander battle strat that was more viable back in the old days when you could launch a tactical nuke from your commander's shoulder, have multi-layer sheilding, etc.. So there's alot to enjoy with this game and the skirmish mode can be pretty dang challenging too.

IMO, the campaign was better than supreme commander 2 as well.
I sometimes go back to do the campaign just to play certain maps that I liked.
The resource system does takes a couple games to get a grasp on how it works.

But the game is a classic fav of mine that I keep installed for rainy days.
Just don't know anyone else that plays it.

Being a solo summer time weekend-warrior out in the field up here in Alaska I can tell you that doing this stuff in real life is extremely tough, tedious and rough on your body but so rewarding when you find what you're looking for. I was pleasantly surprised to see that you actually have to work for your gold in the game and take care of your vehicles and equipment along the way. I will say the panning aspect of this game is limited due to the mechanics of the game so it isn't realistic at all but the basic Gist is there.

Probably the funnest part is upgrading your gear and figuring out ways of working out a budget to increase production.

All in all it's a fun game and I would recommend it. But, to be clear, this isn't your typical balls-to-the-wall, fast paced, seizure-inducing video game. The challenge is to work with what you have and make progress (even if that takes time). Your production will determine your income and that will determine what strategies are available.

Thumbs up from me!

I recently took advantage of the opportunity to get this game for free per a suggestion from a friend (that offer has since ended). I'm gonna be honest that at first when I did the tutorial the game seemed "meh". But I joined a couple friends online and we dove headfirst into the madness of the deathmatch rounds. There is so much going on all the time and communication is obviously key to a successful crew but it was actually really fun!

I was wondering about the release date when someone online told me it was from 2013. I looked it up and I was extremely surprised that this game was actually released in 2012! For 5 years going, this game is still drawing in new players and still going strong. Some have told me the game is dying but from what I've seen online there are still plenty of people to allow for solid deathmatch rounds and hours of fun.

I really like th idea of having slightly larger ships or even one massive battleship that can deathmatch versus 3 or 4 smaller ships but the mechanics obviously would be tricky. Too large a crew and communication would go out the window at some point. BUT the game is enjoyable and there are many directions they can take it from here moving forward, including offering DLC's with new ships, new weapons, new tools, etc..

They could do with adding an auto-communicate feature for those wihtout a mic to give orders from a menu. There is a free add-on for this game that offers this but it would be good to see this within the game.
