Early Access Review
Simplest description: you blast the forces of darkness with a barrel of holy justice. Witchfire is a dark fantasy with guns, and if you're thinking that sounds intriguing and stupid at the same time, don't worry, I thought that too. The only reason I'm here leaving a recommendation is that I impulse bought the game and later found out it was worth the money. That being said, Witchfire is a solid recommendation if you're looking for a game to sink some time into and it really shines when it comes to combat.

The combat in Witchfire can range from feeling like a hunter stalking prey to a fight for survival against a horde of enemies. If I had one piece of advice, it would be: fight smarter, not harder. Pay attention to the map, and don't be afraid to find an exit portal if you've taken one too many hits.

The main weakness I found in the gameplay of Witchfire is also its primary strength: the repetitious nature of the hunts. You repeat the same map until you reach a certain milestone or unlock a specific ability, then move on to the next area. Rinse and repeat. This left me feeling fatigued because your world quickly becomes a series of checklist requirements rather than an unfolding story. Regardless of this critique, I still recommend Witchfire and hope others will pick up this game.

Larian Studios, I hope there never comes a day when you end up like Bethesda, Blizzard/Activision, EA, or any of the other AAA game studios that crank out overpriced garbage. So, what do you get with this game?

"Baldur's Gate 3" is basically a game that allows you to go and do what you want, how you want. It doesn't hold your hand and can be difficult for plebs like myself. You are free to complete most objectives in any way you see fit. The game was designed to give you the freedom and feel as if you were doing a D&D campaign with your friends. Most, if not all, of the characters in the game seem like living people. The voice acting is superb, and character backstories don't feel forced. To top it off, the game is beautiful. "Baldur's Gate 3" is a gem if there ever was one. I recommend this wholeheartedly; it's worth the price, even better with friends (chaos!).

I guess the only real downside I found was the learning curve. I don't do D&D; it's not for lack of experience; it's just not my cup of tea. As such, character builds and tailoring your character to fit your play style and be effective at it are beyond me. It took me quite a while to not only figure out which class was most enjoyable for me but also the insane number of builds, which were overwhelming in number.

What is Neptunia x SENRAN KAGURA? As far as I can tell is a visual novel with hack and slash missions. It's not innovative, it's just a campy game with questionable camera angles, and generic controls. if you think to hard about it you will be disappointed. It's not Shakespeare, the game knows what it is, doesn't pretend to be anything more than that. However, the game doesn't require personal investment, no scheduling for raids, no souls like despair, just a piece of entertainment.
If you aren't trying to impress someone with your steam purchase acumen go a head and pick up this game. Especially when it's on sale.

My initial impressions of Shredder's Revenge is that it reminds me of the TMNT arcade game with slightly more squashed characters. If you have ever played the arcade game you can stop reading now and just purchase the game.

The story of Shredder's Revenge feels like a slightly extended episode of the TMNT cartoon, and far as I can tell this game doesn't have lofty aspirations to be anything more then a TMNT beat-em up. The combat isn't terribly challenging and with the ability do local and online coop this is an easy sell. In conclusion, with Shredder's Revenge you will get what you pay for, so I recommend purchasing it.

Edit* The current time to complete is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, if you personally feel that's to short for the current price, remember it comes with a story and arcade mode. Maybe it's just nostalgia talking but I still think that's enough to justify the purchase.

STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order, what can I say beside by this game turned out to be a gem which honestly shocked me because I was expecting a diarrhea sandwich. Fallen Order has good story telling, beautiful scenery, and engaging combat.

Initially my first impression of our protagonist can be summarized as "really that's our protagonist, no one better?" However I quickly got over it as the story showed him to just be a Padawan trying to survive in a hostile universe (with some serious hang ups) to a somewhat reluctant hero trying to stop the Empires plans. In fact most of the characters you run into are really well fleshed out and complex individuals. In summary, Jedi: Fallen Order wont disappoint and is totally worth a single play through (doesn't have any real replay value in my opinion).

I guess my only minor gripe is that having read the now non-cannon expanded universe books, when they got to Dathomir I was a bit let down. Felt that the revised history and status of the world isn't nearly as interesting or fun as the expanded universe version. Oh! that and it would have been nice to visit a populated world in a non-combat situation.

Waiting for Final Fantasy VII Remake to come out for PC was worth it. This is of course just my opinion, I am sure some people consider this remake as just as a nostalgia cash grab not worth the price considering the entire story will be broken into parts rather than released as a complete game.

So what did I like? It's pretty, combat is generally satisfying, and the potential changes in the story MIGHT be welcomed. To expand on my last point, if some of the deaths surrounding characters can be removed without so much as a conscious effort on the players part, then any an all stakes are pretty much removed and the story could become a boring "what-if" fan-fiction. However, if the player is allowed to act to make their own "what-if" story and potentially save some characters from dying(or change the story) then it might be kind of interesting. Really, whether or not the end result of this reboot is going to be good I can't say yet because it's not finished. Personally I am happy with the changes in the story and the fact you get some real backstory on certain characters glossed over in the original game.

So what kind left me dissatisfied? Some of the cut scenes were ridiculous, and seemed to run poorly at times on my system. Additionally the overall pacing felt off at times, like portions of the game were made much longer just for the sake of increasing play time without adding anything to the new story they are trying to recreate. Specially near the end of the game the padding becomes evident.

Anyway, if you enjoyed the original I am sure you will enjoy playing this reboot. I bought it and don't regret the purchase, it felt like a chance to explore a world I never got the chance to see when it was blocky hell.

additional: That ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pull up mini game.

Well what can I say about mass effect legendary edition, it's mass effect 1,2,3 rolled into one game with slightly better textures. If you already own the original games I don't recommend you purchase it, if you haven't played them before I would suggest Mass effect Legendary edition simply for the value. You get three games for the price of one game which makes it a steal in comparison.

Honestly I have a love hate relationship with the Mass Effect trilogy so I'm very conflicted about this re-release. The story is fantastic but once EA acquired Bioware the overall story telling which was a corner stone of Bioware games dropped. This can be seen in the second game with some of the dialogue choices being inconsequential and in the third game with the general "we're in this war right now" and ending. Lets not even get into the original promises made by the studio about choices mattering and long term consequences, that's long been said and hashed to death.

So what's to say about the game? It's Mass Effect, not Mass Effect Andromeda which was a dumpster fire, but a real RPG where you can actually like the characters and enjoy the story (if you aren't to critical). Combat can be repetitive in terms of how its executed for example; fight this wave, don't die for this amount of time, or kill everything between point A and B. Yes there are bugs, I have had enemies glitched into walls, or dead but still alive on the ground, and I even had my characters orientation get stuck facing a certain direction (ME1 only). Visually the game is fine, it's not going to win any awards but it's not Space Invaders.

So what not to like about this game? Its a old clunky piece of crap that was pumped out without much thought to capitalize on it's popularity. Aka cash into a dying franchise to not only check market response but to get some nostalgia bucks in the process. Nothing was really improved upon except textures and maybe some animations. This isn't legendary, legendary would be to go back and rework some story elements, art, and combat for the love of the franchise. However, that would more then likely be costly and perhaps require a complete rebuild of the franchise.

In the end I am giving it a thumbs up just because I wouldn't want to dissuade people who have never experienced the original Mass Effect from playing it, it really was a great trilogy.

I can't currently recommend the game, I've started the game, gotten to a certain point, then I get bored/don't like something and start over. During each time I restarted I couldn't quite nail down why I couldn't just finish the game. It wasn't the visual bugs, broken quests that took 10 minutes of searching to find someone who posted a work around, or even the laughable enemy AI. Hell I have been playing Bethesda games since I was a kid so all of those things are kind of par for the course (to be patched later by the modding community).

I think what really made me discontent is that the entire city feels empty, night city feels like it's a TV screen with picture of fish swimming in place of an actual aquarium. Sure there are randomly generated NPC's walking around, cars buzzing on the street, and transports flying in the sky. What of it? The citizens all do the same thing when something happens (run, they always run, and then some how disappear), and the cars just keep driving like nothing is happening no matter how you drive. Despite how many gang members you kill, there is no retaliation, there isn't even fear of your presence even when the in game dialogue indicates many people recognize you. In fact the only meaningful way you can interact with the city is to do quests, hire a joytoy, or shoot enough people to make the police come for you.

Don't get me wrong Cyberpunk has some awesome missions. Not to mention the game doesn't censor or beat around the bush with the adult/disturbing content is greatly appreciated. It's just that my immersion and interest ends quickly after the moment I get that "mission complete" on my screen because nothing V does really matters.

In conclusion, Cyberpunk 2077 currently is an empty pinata that severely needs some goodies put into it because it's flashy paper mache exterior is all it has going for it.

edit* if the future patches and DLC's really make Cyberpunk into the gem it was supposed to be, I will be sure to change my review.

Despite it's appealing visual style and open world game play DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT was a rather large disappointment. When I first purchased this game I kind of assumed the controls and combat would be much like the combat in Xenoverse 1/2. However the combat is nothing like that, it's a one button attack mash from beginning until you get bored. There is a weird lag when selecting special attacks that really bothered me, and boss battles felt more an RPGs with phases and repeatable patterns rather than a fighting game. Navigating the community menu, and the skill tree/special attack menu were both very awkward feeling as well. Maybe someday I will come back to give this game another chance, but currently I have tried to get into this game twice and both times very much disliked it.

Don't get me wrong, the aesthetics and quasi-open world feel to the game were a huge step in the right direction when it comes to DBZ games. However, it just never seemed to define itself well as either a RPG or fighting game and felt more like a interactive visual novel most of the time. So steer clear of this game unless you are a huge DBZ fan and the game is on sale (like - 50% on sale).

So Trails of Cold Steel 3 as a fan is concerned is pretty much something you should pick up to complete your journey toward the stories finale. The game adds some new mechanics to the game such as Brave orders which help confer a tactical advantage during some of the tough boss battles. Though most of the game mechanics set up in the previous game are left intact and have only been added to, so no gripes there. The story of Trails of Cold Steel 3 is still pretty much the same collection of political intrigue, international conflicts, and personal hang ups.

However something felt off about this game in comparison to the previous release. I don't know if it's the final boss battle and ending being sequel bait rather than a satisfying conclusion for ToCS3. Perhaps it was the new class VII appearing to be MacGuffins rather than characters unto themselves half the time. The McGuffins even extended into the story revelations that were supposed to be shocking but happened so often it started to feel flat and dull opposed to shocking and exciting. Despite all my gripes I still enjoyed the story overall for the most of the game and found a good deal of the character development outside the scope of the main story was fun and enjoyable.

The final verdict on this game really comes down to whether you have played any of the previous entries in the series. If you are a fan of the previous games then picking up Trails of Cold Steel 3 seems an obvious choice. Pick it up at full price and all the little DLC items are up to personal preference rather than necessity. It doesn't do anything outside the mold of the previous games and that could be something you really dislike or something you are happy about.

However if you have never played any of the previous games in the series then this will seem to be a a average and old RPG experience with a bloated cast of characters that you may or may not care for. I would probably suggest it at a sale price of maybe 25% to 50% off.
