The Quincy ("monk of Destruction") are human mediums with the ability to detect the existence of voids. It all started when they started training to face the hollows in order to defeat them, just like the shinigami. The Shinigami wiped out most of Quincy two hundred years ago to prevent the end of the world. Quincy is the polar opposite of a shinigami. Spiritually aware people who are able to absorb spiritual particles and turn them into weapons.
The commander-in-chief and founder of the Quincy clan is a child of the "King of Souls" named "Yahweh".
Yahweh's goal is to change the world in his image by destroying death itself.
