The tradition goes on (and on). Nothing much to say really, other than I really like the new provided positional play.

As some clever man once said..."Sometimes good, sometimes ♥♥♥♥" - obviously, talking about my FM experience
I would say it is worth the effort though, when it works it is really enjoyable.

The most grinding game I have ever played. If you pass over the bugs, the stupidity of hit validations, the fact that everyone is sweating and using the same meta builds consisting of 6-8 perks for both sides, and also the unbalance itself..it is kinda fun.

Update1: After playing this game for roughly 2 years, I can safely say that at the end of day: most of the people who want to win will tend to use the strong builds, items, map offerings and if possible will do whatever necessary to finish the game as soon as possible.

Obviously, the game does not force you but is rather frustrating and irritating to see that without the strongest possible stuff, sometimes you cannot keep up with the opposite side. If you, as a killer, want to have a chill, fun experience, there is a high chance you will most probably end up getting some tryhards whose purpose is only to get out of the game in 3-4 minutes, by smashing gens and having few to none interactions. However if you play survivor, especially solo, do not be surprised to get tunneled and/or camped at 4-5 gens.

It is not a rule, nor a general statement but sadly DBD nowadays is extremely stressful and sweaty...so my advice for you is to think very much about what you expect from this game: if you just want to have fun with some friends, or by trying to learn/perfect on some killers, then please set the outcome of the game accordingly to it too. If on the other hand your fun dependes on the outcome and you want to win games no matter what, in order to be able to have a real chance, you should do the obvious: equip strong perks, items/addons and play as efficiently possible.

I am not going to talk about the current meta, because the predilected perks and playstyle are in a continuous change so in my opinion, what I say now, could be very non relevant in the next weeks/months. However, as you might already guessed, meta is a crucial part of the game, so the regular gamers will most likely choose to rely on the same 10 perks, on both sides, due to how good they are compared to the rest of the perks.

To summarize everything I went through, in my opinion, this game, like many others, has its flaws and could be better as well worse in a lot of aspects. Is it worth it to play it in 2023? Overall, I would say yes, there were a lot of good recent changes, especially regarding the quality of life. Just keep in mind most of the aspects, the whole overview, and do not expect that the other side will care about your fun or will try even to let you have a real chance.

Sometimes the game feels miserable and infuriating, especially with the more gametime you put into the game, but in this case, there is no shame to just take a break as much as you consider. Lowering your expectations and trying to play the game for fun helps tremendously against the burn-out phenomen. The game is much more fun with friends, so I highly recommend you to play CO-OP if possible - the experience is more enjoyable and less frustrating if you have company. If you decide to play killer, don't be harsh on yourself and probably more important: give yourself time because it is hard, dealing with so many things can feel overwhelming and at times without any real good things out of it.

So...this game drives me crazy for like 7/10 times, especially because I'm that unpatient guy who want to win some trophies almost immediately and have way too high expectations(mostly a bit unrealistic). But particularly the game is a lot of fun, very intuitive and addictive, especially if you have enough time to actually experiment and find players/shortcuts to make it easier and of course, enjoyable. All in all, I think it's a step forward from the previous edition(FM19)
