A charming game in a surprisingly polished state for an early access release. Each character in the village has a distinct personality, which really shines through the whimsical animation and dialogue. Creature and plant design is fantastic. The initial progression is fast and you're not left grinding materials (for long) or wondering what to do next.

It is in early access, but I already have the sense that I don't want to spoil this game for myself by playing too much too soon, so will keep a close eye on future updates for now!

Love this game, but I have to say that the writing is absolutely cringe-worthy. The dialogue options funnel you into roleplaying as an obnoxious, disagreeable, fedora-wearing jerk at every turn.

Sometimes you're provided several dialogue options that you must choose from, but all of them force you to adopt a particular opinion - presumably, the opinions held by the game dev. For example, you're forced to agree that taxation is unfair robbery, and to be condescending to a random woman who says that being a mother is the best job (take your pick of responses from: 'nonsense', 'whatever you say', or 'there are better jobs than that'). The man that collects taxes is also cartoonishly villainous.

In summary, it's a great roleplay game, as long as you're happy to roleplay as the game dev's alter ago.

Fantastic game with plenty of content, even at this early stage. The terraforming process is satisfying with the perfect amount of grind to reach each new stage. The endgame of creating various critters is well worth the effort. Looking forward to seeing how the game improves and expands!

Ark lite.

The same Ark as ever, but with a huge graphics upgrade and plenty of new quality of life features. Worth it for any fan.

If you're a casual player, I wouldn't recommend this one. It's got a Rust-like system where you have to load your base with resources which deplete over time, so you have to log in every few days to avoid losing everything.

Started my first game and spoke to the first person I saw. He took offence and hacked me up with a sword. Threw my unconscious body outside of the city to die a slow death. Thankfully some nice people in shiny armour came walking past before I could bleed out. Picked me up and carried me across the desert for several days and nights. Turns out they were slavers. They put me to work in their slave camp until I found an opportunity to escape. 10/10 game.
