Its the most mid game I've ever played. It improves almost nothing from the original game, and the story is so boring I found myself hoping the side quests would be more interesting as is the case in most games like this. Nope the side quests are boring as ♥♥♥♥ too. The whole thing just feels like an expansion pack to the original game. Its also full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time wasting activities like being forced to do the smithing minigame to complete a quest or carry heavy bags around. I pretty much had "endgame" armor in the first 15 minutes because it turns out as soon as you get any piece of plate armor you've basically capped out your survivability in this game and the game throws at you elite bandits at the very beginning. There was nothing to spend money on really so I kinda stopped picking up loot at some point. It utterly fails at being an RPG, you don't even really spec your character in any meaningful way, you can get every perk as long as you level up enough. As a big fan of the original game I could have lived without this game, it spends too much time on things that aren't very interesting and very little on the fun parts of the game (ie attacking bandit camps on your own or the sieges). The story doesn't really have any satisfaction either, most of the characters just seemed bored or annoyed. Even the villains were really boring this time around. The game basically never gets better after the first 10 hours, you don't find cool new weapons, unlock cool new skills or find new armors really, theres nothing to spend money on etc... You get a cool handgone but it feels like ♥♥♥♥ to use and thats all you can expect to see if you keep playing. I found myself skipping a lot of dialogue because it was frankly boring for the most part.

Its pretty good but feels unfinished, there's not enough weapon and armor variety and the objectives are way too simple.

Edit:

I can't recommend the game anymore due to the Playstation network requirement. The game clearly stated it was optional and they're making mandatory with no real reason. Playstation accounts don't belong on PC games. If this is for anti cheat they already have an ID to track us, its called SteamID, so either they're not trying hard enough or they have some ulterior motive.

Edit 2: They walked the requirement back but at the same time they banned every country on steam that the playstation store doesn't support which tells me they're gonna pull this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ again. Also the newest pack they released is total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the balance doesn't even make any sense for most of the weapons, they're just straight inferior versions of weapons that already exist. And the latest balance patch made the game less fun for no good reason by nerfing a lot of weapons that were in a good spot and were fun to use but they didn't sufficiently buff any of the lesser used weapons enough to be worth using either so everyone is still using all the weapons that got nerfed.

Quite a good city sim, takes inspiration from games like Pharaoh and Rimworld but does it in its own unique way.

My only gripe with it is the overworld mechanics and army engagement systems need a lot of work.

Interesting idea of a game but the execution fails on almost every level. The developers should have made a smaller game with a smaller scope. This game wouldn't have been bad as a co-op dungeon crawler, but the combat and the design of the game does not fit PvP in the slightest.

Its a very interesting take on the old school RTS genre. You basically have soldiers with perma death that have soft RPG skills. Its reasonably fun and tries to keep base management to a minimum. If you enjoy oldschool RTS campaigns I can recommend this.

Its a curious attempt at making physics based combat. Unfortunately there's not much to do and its stuck in development hell. Its got a reasonably high skill ceiling but I think the game pivots way too hard on the janky physics combat and doesn't really do anything else.

It just feels like they took the Bioshock gameplay and hamfisted it into a very linear Arena design. The enemies and abilities are not nearly as interesting as its predecessors. There are less RPG mechanics to play with, its just oversimplified. The gunplay is actually atrocious and the story is more or less incoherent. The graphics are pretty nice, and performance is good.

I finally got around to downloading this game to see what was all the rage about it. I figured Bungie had a good reputation from making the Halo series, excellent games by any standard.

I was quite astonished to say the least.

To begin with, the game basically drops you off after a very short tutorial into a hub called the Tower. Provided with no explanation of anything at all. I had to do a lot of internet searches to figure out what exactly I'm supposed to do. I figured I would start with the legacy campaigns, to actually learn how to play the game.

The campaigns themselves were easily the worst story campaigns I've ever played for a game of this magnitude. I'm sorry to say but games known for having awful story like Borderlands completely take a fat dump on Destiny 2's excuse of a narrative. Each mission felt like it had been designed first as a series of connected arenas and then they just made up some implausible story as to why you are there. After having beaten all the legacy campaigns I still haven't got a clue who any of the enemy factions really are save from some basic descriptions. The characters are totally unlikeable, they use unnecessary moronic humor as dialogue padding so much I just started to ignore everything they said eventually.

So I figured the story is as terrible as can be, surely the rest of the game had more love put into it? Well the shooting mechanics are alright for the most part on par or better to Borderlands. There is a decent amount of weapon variety but for the most part the combat seems to be designed so the player just holds down his fire button constantly without much thinking. The enemies at first seem like they have a good amount of variety but generally speaking all you're doing is shooting them mindlessly while aiming for their critical spots. They're very well animated, quite reactive to getting shot and whatnot but that loses its charm really quickly since the game throws thousands of grunts at in the course of a handful of missions.

While I'm not a fan of the art style of the game, which tries to look more exotic than Halo but borrowing elements from it heavily, it clearly had a massive amount of effort put into it. Its simply too vibrant, with too many explosions and particle effects taking place in the combat, the maps themselves are gorgeous but the game gives you no time to appreciate that with the amount of chaos it throws at you.

Really the only positive thing Destiny 2 did for me was make me desire Halo MCC releasing on PC far more. It seems whoever Bungie is today, they are almost entirely unrelated to the champions who made the Halo series. They may heavily borrow many elements from Halo, it seems as if its done without any thinking or consideration, sort of like they copy catted their own game. All in all it was a complete letdown, I honestly thought I was going to get a half decent game at least.
