I was a long fan of the anime, specially fate/zero. I have been playing FGO for almost a decade now, and I never got around to play the VN, simply because I thought it would be outdated, boring or just over hyped. I was wrong. Nasu writes characters like no other, they feel real, they talk like how real people would talk, the world building is insane, there is a reason why this spawned one of the most prestigious franchises ever. Even the segments where they spout hundreds of lines of dialogue about how mages and magic works, laws of their universe, the throne of heroes, etc. I am still fully captivated, the writing is that good and interesting.

Shirou Emiya is up there with the best protagonists of all time, from dealing with survivor's guilt, being the only one to live a great disaster and feeling indebted to his savior and to continue his impossible dream, and all the faults, mistakes and genuine fear that comes with it he still manages to make it in a way. This VN should be read by anyone even with a passing interest in fate, or to any fan of any of their other media, it's that good.

To start I'd like to say all my knowledge of the series was odd posts in forums and memes, but after playing Limbus Company, I am simply IN. I have gone back and played Project Moon's previous games, and they are all really good.

The story, characters, music, world and writing are all superb, the starting chapters have a few hiccups but for what you eventually reach in chapter 4, 5 and 6? It's all worth it.

The game is not pay to win, power creep on units is non existent besides some side grades, you can earn all of them by simply farming the battle pass which is made easy by a few dungeon runs a week, and if bought will guarantee you get any character of the season (which lasts a couple of months) for sure.

Give it a try.
