Game is alright... Can be quite confusing with the lead/clue system.

The biggest downside i saw in this game was the inventory system. Not enough room to carry things, samething with ammo and materials (although you can double capacity of these with upgrades down the road, they are still not that big of a buff). I spent most of the time at full capacity on ammo and materials, played custom difficulty but based on the challenging setup. Survivability was at times tough but not that hard. The most usefull materials are the ones to craft bandages, so you will be looking for rags most of the time, game throws you plenty, sometimes a bit too much.

I do like the freedom of exploration though, but it can be confusing in the end. I explored as much as i could of all maps and locations before pushing through with the final sequence of the game, some of the missions i unlocked for the main characters giving you story progress, i had their quest items already collected before i even got to meet them once.

Game is a 7.5 out of 10 in my book. Strongest point this game has, is the gameplay, it takes ideas out of sniper elite games and uses first person instead, which is good.

This game suffers from the "bethesda treatment" despite not being a bethesda game.

Said treatment being... the modding community does a much better job making this game feel great, than their own devs with patches. If it weren't for the modding community, the game by itself would be... mediocre or "alright". Like a 6 or 7 at best. Mods make it a 8 or 9.

People say this is the best sniper elite, i say this game belongs in the TRASH.

Spent 30 minutes attempting to fix the random startup freeze the game had, decided to follow a guide and install some files to fix resolution. Spent like 20 minutes playing the game, i literally got about 50 pop ups during the first mission telling me about every single basic tip in the game, this sh*t was pissing me off big time, i kept playing to see how how long the spam would occur, kid you not, this sh*t kept on going while you are literally playing and killing enemies. Game just stops you there for a second to give you a tip that you must confirm.

On top of this, game felt barebones. Yes it is old, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, how can people say this is the best sniper elite game when the gameplay is literally bad. Running in this game almost feels like you are moving on ice, if you run too fast and suddently stop, your character will not stop on the spot, it will slide for a bit untill it stops, i know "realism" for an old game... This feels off. I don't even recall seeing this on the other games.

Considering the game is old, it looks like ass too, i mean, it is to be expected.

I don't see why people say this is the best sniper elite, it might have a few things the other games did not have like the "run and slide to an halt" effect, which honestly is just annoying to me.

Based on the ~15 minutes i played plus the startup issues. I would dare say this game is a 5/10. If i played it at launch, i would have given it a 6/10 probably.

Game is going downhill with the balancing updates. This newest map is hot garbage, does not play well with how the game functions. They are also brute forcing the new map on every match you get on, i hate this f*cking map, why the hell do i have to play this nonstop.

The first 3 maps the game got, they are all "massive explorable maps", this 4th map, the broadway one, is literally action packed, tight corridors, tight buildings, loot placement is all over the place, the map reinforces a "rush to loot, rush to objective, kill fast" playstyle, this does not work well with how the 3 previous maps were built, the game was built with a slow paced approach, going in guns blazing is not the game is intended to be played. People should be rushing in specific areas, not all the time because the maps is literally that f*cking tight ass.

Map on top of being small, reuses a lot of assets from other maps, they literally copy pasted a bunch of stores and placed them in the first sector of the map with the same boring ass objectives, essentially the only "new stuff" is beyond the container objective (which is like 1/3 of the map is repeating stuff we had already seen in other maps)

Zombies spawning in walls, ground and ceiling, zombies spawning in front of you crawling from the ground, sometimes drop from the sky. Good sh*t for a small action packed map, right?

Melee was nerfed to sh*t, perks were nerfed to sh*t, weapons were nerfed in some cases (making it harder to carry more weapons and more ammo/utility).

The only good thing out of the last 2 (3?) patches were the new items added and the early extraction option with this last update. Which i used to extract myself out of the game permanently, this is not fun at all. The more updates they make, the less fun the game ends up becoming. I want a challenge, but not an artificial one with all the balance changes and bad map layouts. You are killing the gameplay and releasing bad maps afterwards. Makes no sense to me.

Game is kinda meh overall. Only reason i beat it was because i like turn based games and was playing it on steam deck, slowly.

3 good things about the game:

-class system (you can combine 2 classes per character, which allows for all sorts of combinations)

-gear system (most items can be used on any character, except for the named unique items which are very few. This means you can mix classes even further by making a high skill damage but also somewhat tanky character)

-hidden unique ability for each character based on specific criteria to obtain it, some of them are game changers but are also given to you too late in the game

3 bad things about the game:

-story (boring)

-mission length (it increases as you progress further into the game, also optional missions are more or less required to be done to level up and to be on par with main story lvl requirement, you can still do missions underleveled, but you will be less efficient in combat)

-boss battles are boring (most of them rely on the same dragon bomb spam ability, running around in circles to destroy crystals, too repetitive...)

I would give this game a 6/10. So thats a positive score, but a small one at that.

This game is for runescape enjoyers, it 100% is inspired by those games. So with that said, expect a similar experience to oldschool runescape but more or less "updated" in terms of gameplay, looks, questing.

It feels like runescape 2.5. Although this game can be quite hard/harsh on the player, specially those not familiar with runescape and the long ass grind associated with the name.

Buggy and unfinished mess of a project.

It's not even worth the 18€ as there are much better things to buy for less money. At 50% off, it might be worth giving it a shot.

The only things that might be worth it in this game:
-the unique ambience, you don't see brazil favelas that much in games of this kind
-anything related to driving motorbikes (doing jobs with a motorbike can be fun, but that fun ends up being too repetitive too fast as the map is fairly small, so you end up going back and forth to the same locations too often).

Thought this game was meant to be enjoyable and not frustrating. Guess not.

The idea is nice but the way they made the gameplay is just too f*cking annoying. Game punishes you big time for going in blind against bosses and the hints to avoid damage aren't always clear. I started out on hard mode, was constantly loosing as i was adapting to gameplay but i made it to the first boss after a few tries, then i decided to go with easy mode because i thought maybe hard was a bit too much. So i try easy and i'm like, getting curb stomped by the boss. I try to time the dodge with the slashes, doesn't seem to work untill i googled how the F this boss worked, and you can avoid the slashes by going the opposite way of the glow by simply... walking. I died way too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ times to this boss because of this ♥♥♥♥ it's not even funny. Problem is that he does this move 4 times in a row, sometimes i avoided the damage initially but then i would get hit to death by the other slashes and i had no clue wtf was going on.

So i get the hang of the game real fast, stage 2 is again the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing with a new boss, you walk in blind, get killed and now you have to go back to stage 1 and repeat the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dungeon again. No thanks. Each "world" or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ each location is considered, there are like 5 stages and probably a final boss, so i assume you have to do all stages and adapt to each boss in each stage and then do all of them without failing to move on to the next world. This concept is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass and it ruins the game. I don't mind the difficulty, but where the ♥♥♥♥ are my checkpoints? I don't want to spend my life replaying previous stages to adapt to a boss deeper in the dungeon. It's a concept of wasting time through retarded difficulty/gameplay and i do not end up enjoying the game because of that.


At this point in my review, i decided to google checkpoints for this game and saw a reddit post, someone commented about not having checkpoints between worlds, if the game runs like this where you are always sent back to start of first world regardless of how far you go in the game, then it surely isn't for me. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ YIKES.

Metal Hellsinger is a much better game than this.
