i think that there is a really fun experience somewhere in this, but i feel like this game gets in its own way far too much for it to be truly enjoyable

This game has easily become one of my favorites. Its not easy, could feel my self slowly (sometimes frustratingly so) learning each bosses' moves and progressing slowly, but sure to being able to kill every boss in my playthroughs. If you are searching for just instant gratification, this game is probably not for you, but if you want an extremely satisfying slow-burn experience, there is truly no better game out there.

Early game and late game are fun, but the middle game is so bad that it doesn't matter.
