To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. The motifs are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of musical theory, most of them will go over a typical listeners head. There's also Stu's veganism, which is deftly woven into his stage presence - his personal philosophy draws heavily from ancient Greek and Buddhist philosophy and spirituality, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these songs, to realize that they're not just fun to listen to- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Stu's existential catchphrase "Eyup! Woooo!!" which itself is a cryptic reference to back when we all could feel human emotions.

I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Stu Mackenzie's genius unfolds itself on stage..
