The game is a mashup of Dark Souls and Tomb Raider/Uncharted in the Star Wars universe. It does not work. After the first 5-7 hours it gets repetitive and boring, and moving through the map seems like a chore.
It seems it's made deliberately to waste your time in order to increase the playtime of the game. No fast travel. You spend 60-70% of the game platforming. You go to a place just to have a fight and remember how to use a force power (accidentally) and then come back the exact same way you go in.
You revisit planets and have to find your way to where you left last time. The map design is great if you like platforming and puzzles, but a mess otherwise. The game is incredibly linear and doesn't allow for any type of creativeness. You have to things only as the developers intended. Follow the exact path they want you to follow and don't stray from it.
At one point there's a functional elevator that you can't use just because they want you to go on that exact path and the messaging it displays says something along those lines.

This game doesn't make you feel like you're playing a JEDI, Force Powers are few and inconsistent. You push some objects and stormtroopers like a catapult but others you can barely make take a step back. I get that with the Souls gameplay you can't have enemies that you just throw and push however you like, but that's exactly why Souls + Star Wars doesn't work. They are not even Jedi or Force wielders, just regular Joes you can barely use Force on.
There is no incentive to open boxes & explore as they only offer cosmetic stuff and no benefits.

Enemies are challenging, the difference between Medium difficulty (Jedi Knight) and Easy is too big. It's almost impossible to die on Easy, whereas Medium will give you plenty of trouble.
The red, unblockable attacks are usually also undodgeable. I've dodged only for the game to pull me back in the attack path like it's a multiplayer game and I have lag. I've also dodged only for the enemy to switch attack directions and hit me like it has some sort of aimbot. Incredibly frustrating. The healing stuff barely works most of the time if you're in combat.

The characters are nothing to write home about after almost 10 hours.

Bottom line is if you like Souls then this game might be for you, although it's a pretty poorly implemented Souls. If you like TR/Uncharted the same. If you want Star Wars (ie KOTOR, Force Unleashed, Jedi Knight) you're out of luck as it has nothing in common with those.

Early Access Review
Great fun for an early access game. Has some issues, but the devs are constanly working on improving them. Looking forward to the 1.0 release coming soon.

This game stood the test of time. One of the best RTS of all time. And it still gets updates.

This game has great potential but its design and the way it is built right now is a joke. Extremely unfriendly for new players and kind of empty. What I like about it: The graphics, the fast loading times, the freedom it gives you and the abiltiy to do what you want, the control with a joystick and thruster and space battles (it just is fun).

What I don't like...well:

Steep learning curve - it will take you a while to learn most of the things in this game. Almost nothing is explained. Missions are extremely vague, bugged, and annoying. Find and kill X, Location: Space. Great.
Another example Find X Canisters of Whatever. You find them but the mission can't continue because they're apparently not the ones you need, even though you got them from the system it said.

There's no real content, lots of grinding. Little to no player interactions, no guilds, no voice chats except on Wings. No voice chats on the AI, they communicate through text messages. Really not immersive.

You get pulled out of hyperspace on almost every trip, it becomes a nuissance after the first 10 times. You get stopped, you destroy the idiot, you continue. Just a waste of time. Some stations and destinations are really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ far away from each other, 150 000Ls away takes you 10 minutes of sitting doing nothing at all. And it's apparently another star with other planets, so basically another system. Why can't I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ warp there?

Coop and Wing play is a joke. Frequent disconnects. Game lags. Your Wing suddenly disappears. The game freezes for no reason.

You can't play coop in open play, only private groups, what's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ purpose then?
Did I mention players are rare? It's mostly a single player or coop game (when it works).

All in all it was worth 13 euros for the time I spent in it, but it could've been a lot more pleasant. Not worth more than 20 eur, even with expansions. Oh, and they charge separately for ship paint jobs and other crap. Not cool.
