As someone who never played the original, I really had fun on my first playthrough (took me about 5h to finish). After playing it a couple times and speedrunning the game, you can really feel how short and scripted the remake is.

Also both Nightmare and Inferno feels like you're playing Dark Souls instead of RE (especially during the final Nemesis encounter).

Still recommend it for those wanting a quick game to mess around, play with the shop items and so on.

Even if you get this game just for the Shadow campaign, its 100% worth it. This is the 3rd time I have a lot of fun with a 3D Sonic game (the other two being Unleashed and Frontiers), definitely gonna replay to 100% it!

Harder than RoR2 imo, but that doesnt change the fact that this is a really good game! 4-man coop goes hard lol

First review (17/10/2023): Sonic Superstars is a really solid 2D experience! I enjoyed a lot playing this game, the stages are pretty good, the soundtrack had a few hit or miss songs and bangers, of course, and gameplay was great (despite a few glitches/bugs here and there, no major bugs though).

I give this game a solid 8! If the price feels too high, get it on a sale and play with your friends locally or through Remote Play ;)

Second review (28/10/2023): I have to bump my grade to 7 or 7.5. I usually don't complain about difficulty in games because most of the time it's my own skill issue. But holy ♥♥♥♥, I think the difficulty designers of this game worked in the final update of Frontiers as well.

Dear developers, please understand that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ≠ DIFFICULT. I'm not gonna spoil anything, just keep in mind that the final bosses of this game unfortunately suffer with that.

Other than that, I still think the game is fine (sweating in a Sonic game isn't, though.)

Try the game for yourself and take your own conclusions 🙂

The decals go crazy. Best gift I've received this year!

Really fun game! I like how it's not just another plain VS clone. The collabs, upgrades, references to Hololive lore, everything is simply amazing! Hoping to see the other gen members (Pekora, Marine, Polka, etc)

I hope there's some way to tone down the colors a little bit because it makes my head hurt sometimes. (if there is a way, please comment on this review!) Other than that, I have zero complaints about this great game!

Editing my review because my country sucks and Steam can't do anything to stop scalpers from buying games at ♥♥♥♥ currency places. Can't complain about those over here lol

The game and the DLC are pretty nice, though, my only wish is that we had more new stages instead of only 4.
