I played over 1000 stages on dirt rally and bought nearly every car. So I had to pre-order dirt 4 and guess what... IT'S ACTUALLY IMPROVED!! Every single aspect of dirt!! Highly recommend. See more below.

First of all the simulation handing is better than dirt rally. Feels better, more realistic... like I can feel the road and connect with car way more. Weight transfer is good, etc. You can also actually feel stuff with the car WAY more like when you enter a gutter or hit a curb, etc...

Also the stages... Love the tarmac tracks. I've played some tarmac tracks where you drive through a small town!! So cool!! I also had to pass a broken down wrx from the rally in front of me when I was in a FWD kit car... kinda cool there is a little cone. Also sometiems the reply drone is like right in front of car is scary! And you cant just go balls out at the end, since you now have to drive and stop at the marshall.

Tuning is so much better as well. You get save slots for each stage type and the options are far better. Can also bring more than one spare tire or zero if you want. Repairs are more important: have to do quick inspects to get accurate repair time.

Career mode is actually good, with some intro and tutorial stuff for newbies. Freeroam, joyride, and gymkhana dirt 3 bonus material type stuff... Team management and sponsor management actually matters too. Also you can pick your livery... yes!! Team Poptarts... here I come! I have yet to try other game modes but soo cool so far. But looks like you have to choose how to spend money early on to make the most of your career. You can upgrade your facility for different thing or give engineers perks, etc. Can even negotiate salary or sponsor bonus too!

There was a daily challenge multiplayer event where you did a few stages live against other people with limited tune time. I thought that was cool. Apparently you get some online skill group ranking? IDK still new to me. I've only done rally and some gymkhana.

The graphics engine is crazy better than dirt rally too... game looks pretty good even with lower options. Prob need a really good rig to max this game out. The fog is pretty freaking dense. I found trees, objects, and advanced ambient occlusion to really kill fps. Just put anistrophic filter and texture to max, with some MSAA, and it doesn't tax your PC much. I am able to max out a 144hz g-sync monitor e.z. if I lower some stuff down from high/ultra.

Few small changes could improve the sponsor or facility page, like listing requirement of the price on the quick notes on the right instead of having to select each one to see if you're are elgibile.

Anyway... once I changed FFB, controller bindings, difficulty setting, and found a good graphic setting this game is great!! Just wish it supported SLI already. Still better than previous dirt!
