Open world adventure. I am thorougly enjoying the content in between the story quests. Taking over camps has a similar feel to Far Cry 3. The collectibles give some cool insight to what happened leading up to the current desert feel of the world. Combat is bizarre - you punch, ram with your car, pull doors and towers down with your car's harpoon ... oh, and you have a shotgun.

I have played through Oxenfree once, and can see how you might want to play it multiple times. Your interaction with conversations leads the characters to respond in various ways. It's a crazy story that starts in a simple place. Let's just visit the island! You have to fail repetitively (and again ... and again .......... and again!) in this game to learn how to play better. There is no tutorial, and your end goal is probably to finish the achievements. There are some neat mods that I am now considering playing with since I have 100% of the achievements.

Unless I missed something obvious, there is no tutorial. I'm not saying that's a bad thing - I like having to learn what I'm doing rather than being told! So far I'm hanging out in the bunker trying to work a few things out, but I feel like it is a different, decent survival game.

This game is "fine" to play single player. It was pretty difficult after only a few levels. However, after making the video below I have played it with local co-op (3 players) for my husband's stream and it was HELLA FUN. We had three XBox controllers plugged into the one computer, with room for a 4th.
