This game is SO good! I recommend buying it. The reviews are mixed because the devs went incommunicado for a while after launch of early access, and the community thought they'd vanished forever. BUT THEY'RE BACK! And the game is amazing.

This game is a masterpiece. The writing, the execution, the overall storyline. The art. The characters. Even the witty "♥♥♥♥ you" remarks from the game; I love it all! I love Ashley and Andrew, and my favorite scene has got to be that one with their parents. It's a game about a psychopath and a not-psychopath, yet throughout the whole thing, the non-psychopath is being corrupted by the psychopath. Slowly forced more and more to embrace what his sister wants him to be. Put in situations where he has no other choice.
My favorite segments are ones where I play as Ashley! Her nonchalant and playful attitude towards things no matter how bad they are, said attitude broken only by the one she cares about, is wonderfully accurate. It makes me wonder how the creator is so well versed in this side of humanity? Nevertheless, it's accurate. She's desperate for his love, because he's the only one who's ever shown it to her.

Not because of romance or anything; she's just desperate and so very, very alone.

Andrew, on the other hand, is a talented guy being dragged down by his sister. He was in college, had a girlfriend, life was looking up for him. Of course, life doesn't care, so Andrew is forced into doing more and more and more insane things by his sister.

TL;DR?
The characters are masterfully written and true to humanity and the most corrupted parts of it. Play this game.

Cosmodread is a space roguelike horror. I'm about to hit a hundred hours and have a couple hundred runs of the game, and I say with trepidation that I've finally learned the ludicrous depth of this game.
Sounds you might think are ambience are very much a real enemy. Open doors are the death of you, but too many closed and you might lock your way out. The dark is terrifying, but you need to move that power source somewhere else. Doors might open or shut due to malfunctions in the ship. Thought a room was safe? Some doors opened and let all the horrors in while you were gone.

There's a lot of enemy types, and while the game isn't perfect and I can't say the balancing on weapons is incredible, I can safely say I love Cosmodread. Give it a chance and it'll have you shaking in your boots.

It's a great game, owned it for a few days and already invested quite a few hours into it after getting sucked in! The gameplay can be a bit grindy at times, but worst comes to worst you just wait a bit and you'll get past it. I've found the game to be incredibly enjoyable, with smooth gameplay, constant buttery smooth FPS with framerate drops being a rare occurrence. In addition, there are relatively few bugs. If you know what you're doing, it doesn't take very long to get to a point where you can gain resources from merely existing, but there's still a large amount of replayability. I think the game would be incredible with either multiplayer or split-screen, and mods would be a welcome sight!
Overall, 10/10. Worth every cent!

Subnautica: Below Zero is an incredible game, with incredibly deep lore. I'd for sure recommend that you play the original Subnautica first, though. Every time there's a new update, I find myself pleasantly surprised with just how much content and fixes and story can be fit into a single update.

9/10, one of my favorites.
