Bought the game 4 days ago, and it is probably the best thing I've done this year. Going to sink in hours into this. Highly recommended with the Year 1 pass.

Absolute banger of a game. This is the state in which BF 2042 should have released. Both Warfare and Operations are fun and I'm eagerly looking forward to the Black Hawk Down campaign, which I hope comes with Co-op. These guys are mobile devs, and they know exactly what they're doing with this game - if you can read between the lines there.

I've had 1-on-1 interactions with them on X, and it shows they care about the community and their feedback. Whether this feedback is actually implemented is to be seen. And because some of the feedback is ridiculous like "remove launchers," "make Tanks handle like cars," "remove recon arrow so we know who is hacking," and so on, I'm hoping the devs are filtering the crap and taking the serious stuff that improves the game into consideration.

As it stands, there's only one thing that annoys the hell out of me and that is SBMM. Why do we need SBMM on a 64 player match FFS!? This monstrosity needs to go from online FPS shooters - just takes away all the fun and makes every match seem like ESWC finals. I just want random matchmaking with my region with random skill levels. I expect the game to be casual and fun most of the time, and not sweaty always. I hope the devs are listening and remove this crap from matchmaking.

The gacha is strong here, and if you're someone who has slippery spending habits, beware! The only thing I got is the battle pass, but I see that most stuff such as operator skins is gacha-based. Although, idc about these skins that much, but it would have been great to unlock them with some challenges or some tiers on the battlepass too.

All in all, for an F2P game, there is lots of fun here. I'm close to spending 100 hours already, and I see myself spending 100 more. However, If SBMM is not removed in the next season, I may uninstall the game since I've had it with these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ algorithms deciding my games.

I've only played the Multiplayer so this review is going to be about that. I am playing a CoD after 15 years. My last CoD was the OG MW2. My first impressions - the MP was super fast and I barely had any time to react when I saw someone sliding and downing me in what felt like 100ms. The game was insanely fast. A few hours later, getting to know the mechanics, the movement and how the guns work. Few weeks down the line, I got much better and was at 1.5KD on an average sometimes dropping to 0.5KD or going up to 2.75KD. I had a match where I had 53/25 with a shotgun which was fun.

A month later, now that I have more grip on the game, I'm noticing weird stuff that I wouldn't have noticed as a new player. I'm playing CDL players almost every other game. The TTK is weird at times only requiring a couple of shots from someone else to down me, while I take more bullets some times and still live and vice versa.

As someone who has played a lot of multiplayer FPS, and competitive Quake 3 Arena back in the day, these MP maps are trash. The only ones l genuinely liked playing are Skyline, Payback and Low-town because these had what seemed like lanes, vantage points and some strategy for positioning. The rest of the maps are open grounds with crap thrown in for cover. After they added Nuketown, most matches are now on Nuketown so players hardly get to experience playing on other maps unless you're lucky.

On diving deeper, I discovered tons of videos and comments from other players about how Richochet, the game's anti-cheat, seems to be manipulating the game in real-time to level the playing field in every match. This explained what I was seeing in game. So as it stands, MP is terrible and not a realistic experience. This is not an anti-cheat, this is an anti-game.

I'm not really a fan of weird looking skins. Season 1 is here and so are weird looking skins. There are fire breathing dragons, bunnies and what not in the maps. Season 0 had undead skins on operators and this was still OK since the operator symmetry was still maintained. Now, these weird skins are distracting and break the immersion on a military-themed FPS. More importantly, I can't see ♥♥♥♥ because of incoming fire, lava and whatever bullet hits these guys are now selling.

If this will be the only game you buy and play all year, I don't recommend this at all because of the unrealistic multiplayer experience. The skins can be dealt with, but the real-time manipulation of my game is unacceptable. If you have spare cash and want a fun arena shooter for the holidays and you don't care about anything else, you can look at this.

I played the Beta and it was terribly optimised back then. Now, it runs way better. I just have a couple of hours in-game and that is all I can possibly give to this game because there is nothing here.. Nothing drew me in.

The story is very typical of Asian MMOs - just some lorem ipsum garbage.. apparently everyone now wants some ♥♥♥♥ called the IronHeart something.. Vuglus, Colosus, Magisters and all that crap.. I just couldn't come to care about it. The story really sucks - it may have worked if it was storyboarded properly and presented in a meaningful manner.. And because of this, the progression in the game is meaningless.

The only thing going for this was the gameplay. But that too kept getting lost in the repetitive sandboxed instances. Destiny 2 does sandboxing too, but in a way the player is still immersed in the world and the story. On the other hand, this game was designed to break immersion in every possible manner.

The devs have done a great job of optimising the game since beta. But it looks like they spent way too much time doings things like adding grease on a tile, instead of things that matter more.

My advise to Nexon is to go back to the drawing board and relaunch this game with a story that makes sense or atleast build the narrative in a way it makes sense for players. And that will ultimately get more players to give a ♥♥♥♥ and play these instanced quests. Because if you don't, this is just another cash grab that will be forgotten in a few months.

But it's free so if you want something you can login and out of, a simple shooter where you don't need to care much and looks great, this game is good for those mindless moments of distraction. For that, and for the fact that it is free, I will recommend it.

Reviewing this after finishing the game. One of the best stealth experiences that initially reminded me of the Commandos games with the enemy view-cones, movement patterns, reaction and alert systems, but this game stands on its own. Mimimi's execution is top-notch, the voice acting is amazing in Japanese (which I played in), the story is gripping - humor, sadness, happiness, anger, everything a story should have!

I'm a trial-and-error player and I found the gameplay is addictive. I spent a lot of time (over 2 hours per level) solving tactical puzzles and not once was I frustrated or felt like giving up because the combinations in which to approach solutions with the characters is up to the player's imagination.

I'm not the type of gamer who generally finishes all his games, but this game got me hooked right till the very end and I highly recommend Shadow Tactics even if you are new to this genre.

p.s. That kuma is amazing!

I'm eagerly waiting for the Mimimi's next game "Shadow Gambit" - The demo was amazing!

Update to my review: The game crashes randomly on nVidia cards and nothing has been done by the devs to fix this issue that's been going on for more than 2 years!

Their solution was to downgrade to the 522 drivers - why the ♥♥♥♥ should anyone do this? The devs seem to live in a world where they think people use their PCs to only play one game that is Horizon 4.

The fact that they haven't come out with a patch or anything to address this issue makes me NOT want to recommend the game in its current state to anyone with nVidia cards.

This is my favorite Forza for the setting, but the devs have successfully convinced me to hate this game.

Incredibly fun and addictive. I've played 22 hours at the time of this review and loved every minute of it. Going to take a couple of days off from work to play more!

I hate the difficulty and I hate the vagueness of the game. I don't have time to "git gud" at this ♥♥♥♥ because I have a full-time job and I get very little time on the weekends to play. So, after having bought it at full price, I was regretting it - but I found something that would make me enjoy the game - an easy mod. After that, I really enjoyed it.

After a while I think I got the essence of FromSoftware games and I did playthroughs without the easy mod. I love and hate parts of it, but I still highly recommend it! This is a must-have in your ARPG collection.
