Cool concept, bad execution as it stands.

The game hasn't got much content, the dungeons are the same 2-3 tilesets. You also have to deal with a random giant that will follow your cart and just destroy it/wipe your entire team. The crystals don't seem to last very long at all, meaning you either need to have two people just sit and push it or you need to risk the merchant which results in the giant catching up to you. Lanterns have barely any fuel in them and you have to go back to the cart to refuel them which isn't great when you're down a corridor in a dungeon. Torches are okay but they burn out very fast and you can't seem to light them from another player's torch which leaves you stuck in complete darkness.

Sadly it looks like development has ceased and the game has been abandoned.

Great game. Plays different to Chivalry 1 and Mordhau. It has a much lower skill requirement so new players stand a fair chance against higher level players. Graphics are great, voice acting is great, lots of customisation options. Definitely worth playing.

It will upset some of the NV purists, but I think I've had more fun in 76 than any of the other fallout games.

Been wanting to try this for a long time, aesthetics are really cool and I have really wanted something to fill the gap that Arx Fatalis left behind.

I just can't get behind some of the design choices. What you see in the trailer looks like an oldschool PS1 era dungeon crawler. Upon making a character, you are asked to enter pronouns from a list of several ones like xe/xer (??). I can get around the pronouns because it looks like it's just in there to appease a certain crowd.

Upon actually playing the game, I had horrific screen tear and there's no option for vsync. I had the fps capped at 60 and it still continued. Weirdly enough, disabling the fps cap fixed the screen tear. You then walk up a corridor where there's a skull that's of a much higher resolution than anything else on screen and just looks out place. You walk a little further where there are mundane enemies that are so easy to kill, it's zero challenge and a poor start to the game.

The thing that really did it for me was turning the corner to an anime catgirl demon. Like what. Where is the gritty dungeon crawler? Anyway, refunded, disappointing as the general aesthetics were really promising.

Honestly, mixed is probably fair considering the game retails at £32.

The game itself is amazing, it looks fantastic, great combat, they've absolutely nailed the 40k style and the voice acting is so seamlessly done. The game starts to fall flat once you reach max level, which doesn't take particularly long, as it's the same maps over and over. Most of the cosmetics look the same (excluding the paid ones), challenges are mostly "kill x of x" or "run x style of maps" which is fine but I'd like more things like the skulls or the twins. Weapon scaling is also okay but it is highly RNG-based. You basically have a shop that rotates every hour and provides random weapons. Getting a particular one at a good rating that you like can be difficult and the mission rewards are usually just as good so the shop makes more sense.

If this were priced at £20 or less, I think it would be positive all the way but there's just too little at end-game for a £32 game, in my opinion at least. Hopefully there will be some new content brought to the game.

I tried to like this game repeatedly but couldn't. I was going into it expecting it to be Dark Souls in Japan, being a fromsoft game. After a tough time being killed a lot and then getting completely lost, I put the game down and didn't touch it for a long while. When I did finally come back to it, I played it how the game wanted me to play it. Instead of trying to roll every attack, I was now deflecting, jumping and countering each one (while dashing out of the way of certain ones).

You get to a point where the game just sort of "clicks" with you and you realise what you need to do to enjoy it and progress. The boss fights become less of a painful slog and instead become a fun challenge. Honestly, I now love Sekiro and understand why it's rated so positively. The final boss was an awesome challenge and I'm currently nearing the end of my NG+ playthrough.

Highly recommend it but you have to play the game like it wants you to, not like Dark Souls.

Plays just like the first one. There's a few frame rate issues here and there but overall nothing major or unexpected for day zero on a 2024 release. Ignore the haters, the microtransactions probably don't affect you at all and you can get the stuff by playing in game anyway.

Needs a lot more work. Shouldn't have been released in this state, at least in my opinion.

Grabbed this on sale, was hoping the negative reviews were just hardcore Ultima fans being upset. I really wanted to like this game.

Honestly, the gameplay isn't terrible, it's just not exciting either. I don't even think I got an hour into the game before I exited it to play something else. The reason I'm going to not recommend it is that I came across some serious bugs in such a short period of time that are just too obvious not to have been caught in testing. This includes the AI just standing there while I hit them and my character sliding (sometimes over edges and just floating) which was starting to annoy me. I'm also not a huge fan of the graphic style they've gone for, though it does feel consistent.

Because of my disappointment with the game, I decided to pick up Arx Fatalis (which I've since found out was actually pitched as Ultima:Underworld III) and I absolutely loved it, so that's a positive.

So far, it's fantastic. I would *highly* recommend grabbing the Arx Libertatis mod as to makes everything much more intuitive (especially spell casting).

The game has plenty of humour and lore, if you can get past the outdated controls, it's very enjoyable.

EDIT: Okay, safe to say I love this game. I can 100% see why it's a cult classic. Push past those controls, within a couple hours you won't even notice them. I really hope there's some sort of follow-up game because there is truly nothing else like this.
