Ok, here's a serious review.
First off, as a reminder this game was developed by 3 guys, which is amazing on its own. There's no "mining" going on, I have solid 60FPS on my RX570+FX6350 rig from the stoneage MAXED OUT SETTINGS and both CPU and GPU usage is under 80% and under 75c temps. Stop posting false reviews from your already overheating laptops in idle! DEBUNKED

Yes, this game has flaws and it has the right to, ITS AN ALPHA RELEASE, changes are bound to happen. Give them your opinions in their forums and they'll make changes in due time. Don't be so privileged for instant changes, it takes time!

Discord/Forum admins does not "ban" users from posting negative reviews, I've posted negative reviews myself - but you do get banned from spam and being overly aggressive and posting hate speech, which they have the right to do. Don't be an ass or deserve the ban!

People seem to think that everything should be handed to them for free.



With that out of the way, here's some positive comments....
+ I love how they make use of the "desktop", it makes it easier to find all the menus,customization options, challenges etc from one single place. Very innovative.
+ You can customize pretty much anything, even finetune your crosshair position and camera zoom in/out behavior.
+ The game both feels and looks ready to be an MMO, the devs even said they'd consider making it an MMO if they reach high enough interest for the game. They just need to make the world a bit larger imho.
+ On-the-fly customization... You're not bound to initial creation or pay to redesign your toon.
+ Combat is fast and fluid, it just needs some finetuning.
+ Music is epic. I find myself weaving my hands like an idiot in the selection screen just to display my super powers for nobody but myself, love it xD

The negative...
- The UI has too much "bling", reminds me of mobile games. Do understand that this is not the final product tho, the developers are aware of this opinion.
- Too many rewards and gifts for staying online for my taste, I like to earn my stuff through hard work and grinding.
- Cosmetics in the shop are locked, imho this is not "premium" content, and during an alpha I think it's important to allow testing and exploration with a character-wipe down the road before Beta. Just my personal opinion.


Other than that, the game feels fine and works fine, mostly positive. I'm fully aware that this is an Alpha and by knowing that this game is so much better than expected. People need to understand and be reminded that this is not the final product, the developers are looking for feedback and that's why it's now an Open Alpha.

First impressions are not great...
You can't pick a land to defend or attack as you think you would do unless you're a "premium" user, that alone makes this game very elitist with no regards to the casual player and this is very bad news. There are also classes that are locked which needs to be purchesed. "Battle Now" button says you will join a random battle immediately, tho "immediately" seem to be relative as I waited for a very long time before giving up.
Thus my only experience with this game was the training area.
As this game pretty much lends the idea of Planetside I was very disappointed to hear that you can only edit your loadout in the menu. I was expecting to at least be able to adapt my character in the warp/webway or whatever the name is

Also, creating an account via their forum/website seem to be broken, they have failed to send me the account confirmation email multiple times and the support team seem to be non responsive.

And the graphics and overall theme does not exactly match with the lore of 40k, at least not the factions training areas as that was my only experience with the game... I'd expect Chaos territories to be filled with corpses, fire and unholy daemon-like structures.

Would I recommend this game? I'd love to, but ABSOLUTELY NOT in the state it is currently in. Things would just have to drastically change regarding the elitism for example, and the definition of "a free game" is extremely relative, as a free player you only get access to a portion of the game... This is not the way you make a successful title, and it is because of games like this that a lot of mud is thrown at the F2P concept.
And with that said, I'm uninstalling it just a couple of hours after installation. That's it for me, I hope they learned their lesson and pray that their next title will be a real free-2-play title with at least "some" playability other than the training area. Byebye
