CW// SPOILERS

When I talked to Purple Mage near the end of the normal route, I walked out and began a new save. I was tired of the killing; it was literally taking a mental-emotional toll on me that I haven't felt with any other game, Undertale included. I hated that stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frog, I hated that omniscient ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cube, I hated everyone and everything that had encouraged the path I was on.

But above them all, I hated myself.

I wanted to go back and do a pacifist run from scratch, as quickly as I could, out of spite and rage and despair. It didn't matter that it all wasn't real, that I was murdering lines of code and pixels on a screen. I very nearly overwrote my last save from the first run. But I slept on it, and realized- completely aware of the ultimate irrelevance of my actions- that if I stopped there, everyone in that save died for nothing. So tonight, I finished what I started. Not the frog, not the cube, not the spirits- me.

Though I was told throughout the entire game, entering the Waiting Room was the first time I truly realized that I had done the right thing. They were happy. They were free. Not only did they all thank me, but some even apologized. I was absolved.

When I reached the credits roll, I had tears in my eyes.

I've had a lot of favorite games over the years. But this goes beyond that.
Thank you for the experience.

I did enjoy it.

Carries on the Aperture Science torch where Valve won't; an irrefutable example of the power and dedication of the fan community. Perfectly models the charm and intuitive gameplay of the previous two official games- if ever there was to be a Portal 3 of sorts, Portal Stories: Mel is a seamless addition to the series in my mind.
I seriously from the bottom of my heart thank the developers for giving their time and creativity to make this game.
