Fun game to pick up and play with a friend. Fun vibes and feels like a microcosm of a more fast paced WoW experience. Game is funnest when you're underlevelled going through the run, and strategizing the front to back combat, pulling the packs, bringing enemies to choke points, and barely beating the bosses with the limited pot slots that you gathered from your garbage trinkets.

Granted, it stops being a power fantasy and becomes more of a fear and hunger experience (especially when you get to that dark place with fog of war), but its what me and my friend have been looking for from a game for the longest time. Cop it, the game is worth forking over the cash. The game becomes considerably easier if you just farm levels, items, and resources for upgrades, but try treating it like a traditional roguelike instead of your run of the mill ARPG; it's much funner that way. But hey, don't let me tell you how to play the game, go have fun.

Update: Game does seem to be lacking in content. More enemy types, different landmarks (for each area to spice things up), and different ways to go about completing your run to alter its linearity, all these changes would be awesome, but with the current systems in place, and changes made in prior patches (compared to release), it show a lot of promise from the devs. I hope to see more content being added to make this a more complete experience. <3

I really love the art style and premise of the story. It's a stunning 10/10 for me on that front, and the different wind instruments for the rats communicating is a nice touch. That being said, if you are coming in looking for a souls-like gaming experience, I can't recommend this game. There are no i-frames, which is not a problem, souls veterans won't have a problem with this odd design choice, but the combat is really jank. Parries don't require timing, it's a straight up counter as soon as it comes up, boss movesets are very limited and as such, it's just repeating defend, lung attack, 2 hits, back off. Combat feels like QTE's instead of a skilled combat interaction.

If you like the premise, and just want to see how it plays out, go for it. But if you were like me, and were looking for a unique combat experience and a souls-like experience, you will be sorely disappointed. Still a good game, but I personally wouldn't recommend it.

Pretty nuanced take on relationships and an interesting story. I genuinely think the first blind play-through is very eye opening for letting people learn on how to be a good partner. I.e. you have to be proactive to do the things that are right in the framework of a relationship. Don't fixate on making a good impression in order to be able to date someone, talk about your genuine interests and ask them about theirs. Don't sit down and play your phone when your s/o is talking about their problems, and sit next to them and be shoulder they can lean on. It's a good game and I find the morals they try to teach to be quite logical and mature.

I played this game when I was 11 on a galaxy tab, and today, I found out that this game was on sale while browsing through steam. At that moment, I knew that I had to have it. Back when I played this game, it was still in development, but the second half of the game which has now been completed is an amazing conclusion to this nostalgic trip. This game is short, simple, straightforward and amazing, charming point and click adventure. I love this game, thank you House On Fire.
