Very good game I can see why it won so many awards even though I don't think it should've won all the awards it did I do believe most of them were 100% deserved.

The combat is fun but can get a little repetitive after a while but the variety of enemies keeps me on my toes, I did feel like there was a difficulty spike toward the end of the game but nothing I couldn't get through but it did just feel like it boiled down to "parry everything or lose the fight" which once I got to the end I grew tired of but after that problem seemed to go away for the most part.

The story is amazing, there are plenty of twists I didn't see coming and while I loved the endings I can see how someone might not view them the same way I did.

The music is also amazing, I'm not a huge fan of the type of music but I fit the world, the story and the vibe so well and the ost was just very well made that all the songs are still enjoyable to hear and I never found myself burnt out of hearing them despite listening to them throughout the whole game.

The game is visually amazing everything looks like a painting. Each area is truly stunning to look at and the game ran very well on max settings despite 1 or 2 frame drops I had during 1 or 2 cutscenes.

I'd say if you're a fan of this type of story and gameplay then it would be a 8/10 to maybe even a 10/10 but if turn based isn't your thing and you don't vibe with the ending and lore of the world it could be a 5/10 to 7/10 and if it interests you but isn't normally your type of game, I'd say get it when its on sale and try it you can always refund it if your playtime is under 2 hours. If you hate it just because it won some awards thats tough ig, idk go have fun on the games you like, this game probably won't be for you.

Very amazing game I just finished my first playthrough on both hard puzzle and combat difficulty and I plan to 100% and I cant wait monster design and lore were great.

But on a real note ♥♥♥♥ the spawning monster mixed with the shackled monster that is bottom 1 enemy combo in silent hill.

This is the first like REAL review i'm writing for a game and I'm doing this cause I love silent hill and I do have some issues with this game even though I really like it.

((After playing more and watching some videos there is a connection to the white claudia so this part of the review can be ignored)) I'll start my negatives of the game with that it doesn't really connect to silent hill the town or the cult from what I could find and I feel like it could've been as simple as adding in a mention of a plane ticket to america in the shrine section or in one of the shrines around the town. I do hope that there is a connection to the rest of series lore that either I can find or is discovered online because I love the game but I feel it doesn't need the silent hill in the title.

The combat was ok I like it but I wasn't in love with it. While I thought the dodge was very satisfying and the idea and practice of using different weapons that are good at different things and behave differently based on durability was cool, there were some instances where it felt a bit off like for instance I don't understand the requirements for Hinako to lunge out to connect an attack. Some monster groupings were very ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying to deal with such as the the one I mentioned earlier and later on in the game they kinda just start to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spam stuff like that.
At the end of the day I think I would've preferred silent hill 2 remake combat mainly because while I think its cool, I didn't think the new combat for this game is so fun that I would wanna keep using it in future games, it feels about as meh as the other games in terms of actual gameplay its just more involved but in a game where I'm mainly playing for the story if the combat is gonna be just ok I'd rather it have been more simple.

I think the first ending was a little confusing but I figured it out I feel after thinking about it for a bit BUT I can see how if someone doesn't read every little bit of lore or misses one or two lines of the dialogue they could be REALLY confused about the story especially since the lore in silent hill games in the past have never really needed you to search through all the lore documents you can find to understand the story of the game itself but rather it would give context to the past of the town and events that lead up to the game.

The games story and gameplay with definitely not be for everyone, while I am not the biggest fan of Ryukishi07 I do think this story was very well done. The combat is very different from what silent hill has been like in the past even being a decently sized jump from sh2r. The game definitely has it's audience.

I feel as this game will have the same reputation as Silent hill 4 where either you love it or hate it or love the story and hate the gameplay.

Overall I would rate it like 7/10 or 8/10, if you're not one who enjoys the combat then maybe wait for it to be on sale as you'd probably see the game as a 6/10.
