the watcher dlc is by far my favorite slugcat. i love seeing developers add mods into their games. its genuinely my favorite aspect of game development, and probably the best way to interact with your community. i understand that some people may think its too overwhelming, but frankly im excited to see what else they could do after all of this. there were so many beautiful scenes and the worldbuilding+overall story connected with the watcher is so immersive, and i havent even gotten all of the endings. this dlc is a 10/10. it had me so hooked, and balances difficulty very well.

i wrote a long review, so here's a more compilied version but probably longer:
i originally made a review after a couple slugs being a bit upset at the game and thinking it wasn't for me. i labeled it as not recommended, but only if you aren't confident in your patience. while that is not entirely wrong, id say its still worth a shot. playing it in online multiplayer, although buggy, is also the main reason i kept playing. overall 8.5/10, amazing story and worldbuilding, but my goodness gracious needs so much patience if youre playing alone. would also probably be super fun to play through the whole game on a couch with some friends. havent tried it, but might.

im updating my old review, having completed the last 3 slugs:
my goodness gracious, the effort is worth it.
this game may have been one of the hardest games i have ever played and actually beaten, but it felt amazing being done.
bringing a friend to suffer along with me eased so much of the pain. especially when said friend actually understood the game, and was good at it.
rain meadow is a mod that lets you play the game with friends, or just explore the world. it's a bit buggy, but super worth doing if you can't do it on your own. having people to help you out (that aren't only in a call with you) can work wonders, sometimes.
i dont think my old review is particularly wrong, and i still dont think the game was for me. i wouldnt have made it far at all if i were only playing alone.
my old review, if you wanna see my opinion pre final 3 downpour slugs:
needs a ton of patience and persistence. ultimately good game but not for me tbh. only playing it cuz friend wants me to

(i should clarify that i only don't recommend it if you're not confident in your persistence/motivation to keep playing, because sometimes the game does just give you tough luck)

Early Access Review
actual review of this game: 6.5/10

i'm gonna get straight to the elephant in the room, with that being the fanservice.

it's sure as hell abundant, no doubt about that. although, that becomes a huge turnoff for this game. my overall review is lower for this exact reason. i did still enjoy the game a lot, but felt more uncomfortable with the oversaturation of furry with big titties and/or overly revealing clothing. furthermore, i can describe the fanbase in one sentence i am happy to know i will never have to type again: "no way, every female character is taller than me, the player character... i can even make myself a short girl with massive proportions! no way... all the female npcs are taller than me... i love this distraction from my depressing lovelife! 10/10! " SHUT THE ♥♥♥♥ UP! and that's my summary of the fanbase! (if you want a real example, the first message i saw in a public server was someone asking to erp with their discord username provided.) overall, if you play a game and like to associate with the community, unless you're into this kind of stuff, steer clear of this game. i can't recommend anything else since i'm not too experienced in the mmo genre, but anything is better than this for a community to talk with and actually play the game for its gameplay. although, i did actually find some nice people, but i regret the actual process of finding them, which i don't think should be the end result for a game.

as for the actual meat of the game, the REAL gameplay.

in the world of atlyss, there are 3 different classes, with each class having 2 weapon types. (except for warrior, they get 3.)
the first class, warrior is almost if not entirely melee (obviously). their 3 weapon types are hammers (slow but big dmg), polearms (pretty fast, okay dmg) (no you can't throw it sorry), and swords (mid speed, decent dmg).
next, we have the rogue (my personal favorite)! unlike the other two, rogues have a bit of variety in their kits. of course, mostly based off of going as fast as possible, are focused on getting in and out. as for our first rogue weapon, we have my beloved katars. they're like gauntlets, but with sharp knives at the top so they're instantly better. with them, you have obscene attack speed at the cost of lower damage per hit. next, we have bows. from what i've seen, i don't know if they're very good, but it's the most ranged you'll probably find in this game if that's your cup of tea.
finally, we have the mystic. mystics are, obviously, magic based. their kit consists of several forms of spells
