It's a decent game, but I feel a lot of it's qualities are overblown by fans. the whole "Innocuous game turns out to be deeper or darker than it originally seemed" has been done before, and has been done arguably better. (while one could debate the nature of them. Yume Nikki, Lisa The Painful, The Way We All Go, and Higurashi all come to mind for me.)

The Characters are kind of flat, but it does an okay job of justifying that if you play through it.

The end message of the game and point kind of fell flat for me, probably because the certain type of fictional deconstruction this ends up going for is not new territory for me, and it comes off as pretty entry level, better than some examples though. (cough cough, a certain investigative VN that came out recently.)

Overall it's good, the second half is interesting. but it comes and goes faster than you can appreciate it, and the dull first half drags on too long for it's own good.

Play it once, If you've got nothing better to do. otherwise, you can pass.

A game almost physically bursting with potential. and A creative genius backing it at that. This is steadily looking to be one of my favourites, and it seems almost modelled after a dream. I can't wait to see where this game goes.

Within the first hour of the game I counted about seven jumpscares all of which were the only genuine scares in the game at that point, all of which accompanied by stock scare chord sound effects like some cheesy 80s horror movie, for a game that is hailed as a deep psychological horror and a successor to silent hill by some others in this review section I was extremely disappointed.

the core gameplay concept was unique and i'd be lying if i said i didn't find it interesting but I can't get over how terribly cheap it is in this regard towards scares.

Do not buy if like me you were expecting something like P.T. or silent hill because this is much cheaper in terms of how it tries to scare you.

A quintessential classic in the Roleplaying genre.

Very well crafted and delicately put together the only major downside is abysmal optimization on this port, it's to be expected. It was fromsoft's first forray into PC gaming and as a result it really doesn't perform well.

The framerate is all over the place even on good computers and while this is somewhat improved with the DSFIX mod if you want to play it at 60 FPS flawlessly you need a computer running with an extremely powerful CPU i'd probably estimate 4 GHz atleast but i wouldn't personally know.

Other than the technical problems this is easily one of the greatest Roleplaying games of all time, and in fact one of the greatest games of all time if you were to ask me atleast.

A fantastic exploration of a dying and at times dead world. Filled with moments of bittersweet, bitter, and rarely. Genuinely sweet moments and story.

One of my favourite games of all time, And one I would always recommend.

Just don't expect it to run perfectly.
