Suspiciously good developers Suspicious Developments make another suspiciously good game where you can defenestrate anyone. The bad people, the good people, the neutral people, they can all be forced through a windows somehow. New to their catalog is character development arcs where you learn to love this unlikely team of misfits. 10/10 wish I could erase it from my brain and play for the first time again.

Was saving my review for if Sony reversed their PSN requirement, which they did.

Arrowhead has made an incredibly fun game and actively work to evolve the gameplay and story. Only criticism is they hit the nerf button a little too hard on during balances. Some guns everyone is using one day, then they nerf it and I never see it on the battlefield again. All that aside, it is actively fun and I an glad I can continue playing it.

This game is challenging and charming, it scratches that puzzle itch in a spot that a lot of puzzle games can't reach.

Maybe not the best 4x game, but absolutely one of the best FANTASY 4X turn based strategy games.

I'm admittedly a fan of the Endless universe that Amplitude Studios set most of their games in, but it really is a solid grand strategy game. I like to ratchet up the AI difficulty and play solo, so I never experienced some of the multiplayer issues people have complained about. Solo play is smooth sailing.

The core mechanics are well rounded and each of the 13 factions play so different that the game stays fresh for a long time. Staying fresh is a problem that plagues many grand start games, but not this one. While each faction has their strong points, the game has been well balanced so no faction feels too OP over the others, you really just have to play to the strengths of your faction to win at higher difficulties.

The music, art, graphics and UI are top-tier, so the aesthetics are great.

I'd say this is a definite buy for any 4x grand strat fan looking for a fun setting outside of Sci-Fi or modeled after our own world. It can be a good game for beginners as the tutorial is solid but I think the learning curve here makes it a little cumbersome for a first time grand strat player. But the game sports some innovation and fun game play for strategy fans that only a few other companies can pull off in a 4X game. Thanks for reading.

TL/DR: If you enjoy hack'n'slash ARPG's you can't go wrong giving this game a try.

It's kind of telling that even though the two top reviews marked "most helpful" are negative, they both have over 100 hours in to the game. I probably wouldn't play a game I really disliked for over 20 hours. MAX. Would you? Anyways...

This game is an excellent and entertaining hack'n'slash, not flawless but the flaws are minor. It happens to be my favorite hack'n'slash RPG and I have played the franchises for Diablo, Torchlight, Titans Quest, Path of Exile, Van Helsing, Victor Vran and many others.

The most common complaints really just come down peoples personal taste in games. If you're the kind of player who likes to overturn every stone as you go, but you want fast pacing... Well, stop overturning every stone. If you think the game lacks story, well its probably because you don't like to read. The story and world craft are done primarily through texts you can pick up. Keep in mind this game development was a kick starter project that has far exceeded the original expectations. You're not going to get copious amounts of AAA game quality voice acting and cgi cutscenes and if the lack of those things is enough for you to give a game a negative review then good grief, check your priorities.

I see people complaining that character progression is both too simple and too complex. I think in this case the people who think character build progression was too simplistic weren't paying too much attention to the wide range of options available outside of just the 3 attributes. Take advantage of how your skills synergize with bonuses to resistances, damage types, devotions and equipment. The game is designed assuming players are paying attention to those things. If you thought it was simplistic and just punched in your attribute points and picked the constellations you thought were pretty for devotions, well... You probably had a bad time, but its not the games fault. One very popular review pans that game for lack of character class variety. There's 9 base classes and they all play differently and utilize attributes differently so I don't get this. Also with 36 dual classes there is more variety than almost all other games in the genre.

Another complaint I see if that friends have trouble playing together because they don't have the same DLC mix. I get this one, it can be frustrating to buy a base game expecting to be able to play with your friends and then feel nickel and dimed when you can't play together without additional purchases. In the developers defense each DLC adds A LOT and they make big changes to the base game content and that might be why it is not possible. The DLC's are nice because of the amount of content that comes with them. We're not talking $14 for a friggin kitty hat here, we're talking several hours of playable content and new items.

That's it. The game is good and the subjective negative reviews are undeserved.

You will play with some really smart people, you will also play with some absolute idiots, and a really smart person could turn in to an absolute idiot the very next round, it's wonderful.

Old Man's Journey is more of a interactive art peice than a puzzle game, and if you aproach it with this perspective you will find an enjoyable experience. The visual charm is the strongest aspect of the game, as the storyline is simplistic and conveyed through short emotional cutscenes. At times I found it hard to feel empathy for the old man as he hitchhiked through the countryside vandalizing stone walls and harrassing sheep, but not enough to dislike the game.

4/5 would recommend as an interactive art peice.

This game was already special when I started playing it over a 2 years ago, but it just keeps getting better with every update. The devs had a vision, and they are making not just a damn good game, but a damn good game world that I hope will be represented in future offerings by them. Or not, because they would probably do just as well fleshing out a completely different game-world. The point is, these guys have managed to make art by combining game-play mechanics, game world, and game art.
