I have played this game with no issues for a long time. Every since the new launcher was put in place, i am no longer able to play the game. Literally, no help for anyone.

You click play, the game loads in "task master" and that is it. no screen to actually play the game, no crash reports etc.

Early Access Review
Do i love the game, YES, so why would I not recommend the game?

1 simple reason, I play solo, and sadly, the game isnt meant to be played solo, you need to play the game as part of a team. DO NOT PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT A GUILD OR TEAM PLAYERS!!!!

Most public servers ive been on, if your not using a program to record your gameplay, there is no real way for admins to enforce "no KOS (Kill On Sight)" rules, because you cant prove it, you dont even get to see the players name, unless you hold down E when they're attacking you, but when your under attack, your either defending yourself, or running.

Want to troll a server, is SO easy, too easy, just join a server, go and collect some wood, and make spears, all within a minute of joining, then find your victim, regardless of the armor, and kill them very easily.

If the game wasnt such a hard grind, this would probabily be tolerable, but the world is large, and moving in the world takes time, if you cross the world to gather resources, only to get killed on your way back, every time, it can become a bore and limit your ability to play the game.

The world is harsh, very hash and full of trolls.

In a nutshell, the game is beautiful, the idea is awesome, sadly its to un-balanced in favour of the trolls.

I dont know really know where to start.

First time, I played it on the easiest setting, since I didnt want any tutorials, and I find its the easiest way to learn to play a Civ game.

So what i found is the new "hostiles" are a bit of a novelty, once you've taken one out and researched a few techs, they're pretty much obselete, not much the persistant hostiles you want.

I was hoping for a far deeper and richer game, the new tech tree was good, allthough confusing at times, until you realise your "racing" the other civs to research the required techs for the end game scenario, then you realise this is a "fastest researcher wins" game, which pretty much turns the game into a predictable grind, all you end up doing is hunting down the other civ's end game wonders, a new feature i do actually like since the wonder is built on a tile you can attack independant of the city itself.

I recommend playing Civ IV Beyond The Sword. You'll enjoy it far more.

Still buggy as hell.

It works for the most part, but then suddenly autopilot manages to get you stuck in part of a station your trying to dock at, once or twice, fair enough, but after 5 tries, it becomes unbarable.

Secondly..... and this is the killer bit for myself, i do agree that a steep learning curve is required for a game like this, however it doesnt help you one little bit when 99/100 of the requests it wants you to perform, it doesnt give any hints or tips on how to achieve them.

Ive gotten fed up of pausing the game to google a walkthrough to find out what to do.

A simple tip like "fly into cargo container" wouldnt go amiss to have in the game yet your left wondering how the hell are you meant to collect cargo floating in space.

final straw. Game uninstalled.

Ill wait for them to fix this abominable game. Im going back to X3
