saved my fathers life in Vietnam, they were in a fox hole together he was dressing "sevs" wounds when an enemy Vietcong rushed to the trench and swiftly threw a grenade at them, before diving away. "Sev" being the hero he was born and raised by his father "Sev Senior" to be, dove onto the grenade absorbing all the shrapnel and blast leaving my father without a scratch. he was severely wounded thinking he was about to die he whispered what he suspected his last words into my fathers ear. Softly he spoke 2 words that sent shivers down my old mans spine, words that our family have lived by and devoted our lives to in the name of what that man did. he spoke, "who made that big mess". when told Sev what his father had done he asked what his last words were so we told him... his response?... "you did daddy!" with tears flowing down his face biting his lip trying to hold back his emotions.
